You will live in joy and peace. The mountains and hills will burst into song, and the trees of the field will clap their hands!

“ When he sits on the throne as king, he must copy for himself this body of instruction on a scroll in the presence of the Levitical priests.He must always keep that copy with him and read it daily as long as he lives. That way he will learn to fear the Lord his God by obeying all the terms of these instructions and decrees.This regular reading will prevent him from becoming proud and acting as if he is above his fellow citizens. It will also prevent him from turning away from these commands in the smallest way. And it will ensure that he and his descendants will reign for many generations in Israel.

Come, everyone! Clap your hands! Shout to God with joyful praise!

Let the rivers clap their hands in glee! Let the hills sing out their songs of joy

When David’s friend Hushai the Arkite arrived, he went immediately to see Absalom.“ Long live the king!” he exclaimed.“ Long live the king!”

Long live the king! May the gold of Sheba be given to him. May the people always pray for him and bless him all day long.May there be abundant grain throughout the land, flourishing even on the hilltops. May the fruit trees flourish like the trees of Lebanon, and may the people thrive like grass in a field.May the king’s name endure forever; may it continue as long as the sun shines. May all nations be blessed through him and bring him praise.

Jesus was in the center of the procession, and the people all around him were shouting,“ Praise God for the Son of David! Blessings on the one who comes in the name of the Lord! Praise God in highest heaven!”

It is God who enables us, along with you, to stand firm for Christ. He has commissioned us,

So there at Hebron, King David made a covenant before the Lord with all the elders of Israel. And they anointed him king of Israel.

Look to God’s instructions and teachings! People who contradict his word are completely in the dark.

You welcomed him back with success and prosperity. You placed a crown of finest gold on his head.

Our king— the Lord’s anointed, the very life of our nation— was caught in their snares. We had thought that his shadow would protect us against any nation on earth!

You have renounced your covenant with him; you have thrown his crown in the dust.

Then the men of Judah came to David and anointed him king over the people of Judah. When David heard that the men of Jabesh gilead had buried Saul,

In the seventh year of Athaliah’s reign, Jehoiada the priest summoned the commanders, the Carite mercenaries, and the palace guards to come to the Temple of the Lord. He made a solemn pact with them and made them swear an oath of loyalty there in the Lord’s Temple; then he showed them the king’s son.
