第七年耶何耶大打發人去把傭兵迦利人的百夫長、和衛兵的百夫長、帶來，領他們進了永恆主的殿、到他那裏，就對他們立約，叫他們在永恆主殿裏起誓；然後將王的兒子指給他們看。

In the seventh year Jehoiada sent for the commanders of units of a hundred, the Carites and the guards and had them brought to him at the temple of the Lord. He made a covenant with them and put them under oath at the temple of the Lord. Then he showed them the king’s son.

In the seventh year Jehoiada the priest sent for the commanders of military groups of 100 men. They were the commanders over the Carites and the guards. Jehoiada had them brought to him at the temple of the Lord. He made a covenant with them. At the temple he made them promise to be faithful. Then he showed them the king’s son.

But in the seventh year Jehoiada sent and brought the captains of the Carites and of the guards, and had them come to him in the house of the Lord. And he made a covenant with them and put them under oath in the house of the Lord, and he showed them the king’s son.

In the seventh year of Athaliah’s reign, Jehoiada the priest summoned the commanders, the Carite mercenaries, and the palace guards to come to the Temple of the Lord. He made a solemn pact with them and made them swear an oath of loyalty there in the Lord’s Temple; then he showed them the king’s son.

In the seventh year Jehoiada summoned the officers of the units of hundreds of the Carians and the royal bodyguard. He met with them in the LORD’s temple. He made an agreement with them and made them swear an oath of allegiance in the LORD’s temple. Then he showed them the king’s son.

In the seventh year Jehoiada sent and fetched the captains over hundreds of the Carites and of the guard, and brought them to him into Yahweh’s house; and he made a covenant with them, and made a covenant with them in Yahweh’s house, and showed them the king’s son.

百夫長們就照祭司耶何耶大一切所吩咐的去行；各帶安息日上班同安息日下班的人來見祭司耶何耶大。

又率領百夫長、傭兵迦利人和衛兵、以及國中之民；他們請王從永恆主的殿下來，他們從衛兵的門路進入王宮；王就坐了王位。

耶何耶大使王和人民與永恆主之間立了約，要做永恆主的人民；又使王與人民之間也立了約。

他們入了約，要全心全意尋求永恆主他們列祖的上帝；

王站在他的地位上，在永恆主面前立約，要全心全意地跟從永恆主，謹守他的誡命、法令、律例，實行所寫在這書上的約的話。王又使所有在耶路撒冷和便雅憫的眾人都站着承認這約。於是耶路撒冷的居民都照他們列祖的上帝的約而行。

我指着永活的永恆主來起誓：無論哪一邦哪一國我主上沒有不打發人去找你的；人若說你沒有在那裏，他就叫那國那邦的人起誓說他們實在找不着你。

現在我心中有意思要和永恆主以色列的上帝立約，好使他的烈怒轉離了我們。

那一天、約書亞就和人民立約，在示劍為他們立定了律例典章。

第七年耶何耶大奮勇自強，將百夫長耶羅罕的兒子亞撒利雅、約哈難的兒子以實瑪利、俄備得的兒子亞撒利雅、亞大雅的兒子瑪西雅、細基利的兒子以利沙法召了來，同他們立約。他們環遊了猶大，從猶大各城招集了利未人和以色列父系家屬的族長；他們就來到耶路撒冷。全體大眾在上帝殿裏同王立約。耶何耶大對他們說：『看哪，王的兒子，他必須作王，照永恆主論大衛子孫所說過的。你們要這樣行：你們中間的祭司和利未人、安息日上班的、三分之一要把守各門檻；三分之一要在王宮，三分之一要在基址門：眾民要在永恆主之殿的院子。除了祭司和供職的利未人以外、任何人都不可進永恆主的殿；這些人可以進去，因為他們聖別；眾民總要遵守永恆主所吩咐守的。利未人各要四圍環繞着王，手拿軍器；凡闖進殿的必被處死；王入王出、你們都要和他在一起。』利未人和猶大眾人就照祭司耶何耶大一切所吩咐的去行；各帶安息日上班同安息日下班的人來；因為祭司耶何耶大不許他們休班。祭司耶何耶大便將上帝殿裏屬大衛王的矛、盾牌、武器、交給百夫長們；他又分派眾民手裏各拿兵器，從殿南邊到北邊、對着壇和殿站在王子四圍。他們把王子領出來，給他戴上王冠，將王徽交給他，稱他為王，耶何耶大和兒子們用膏膏他；眾人就說：『願王萬歲！』亞他利雅聽見眾民奔走和讚美王的聲音，就進永恆主的殿眾民那裏。她一看，見王竟站在出入處的柱旁呢；大臣們和吹號筒的人都侍立在王左右；國中眾民全都歡喜快樂、吹着號筒；還有歌唱人用各樣樂器領導頌讚；亞他利雅一看見，就撕裂衣服，說：『反了！反了！』祭司耶何耶大將受派管理軍兵的百夫長們帶出來，對他們說：『從班次之間將她趕出；凡跟隨她的必須被處死於刀下。』因為祭司說：『不可在永恆主殿裏將她處死。』兵丁就下手拿她；她走到通王宮的馬門出入處，他們就在那裏將她處死。耶何耶大使眾民和王與自己之間立了約，要做永恆主的人民。於是眾民都到巴力廟、將廟拆毁；將他的壇和像打碎；又在祭壇前將巴力的祭司馬坦殺死。耶何耶大就派官來看守永恆主的殿，在祭司利未人手下；這些祭司利未人是大衛所分派來負責永恆主的殿，按摩西律法上所寫的給永恆主獻上燔祭，又照大衛所手定的來歡樂歌唱的。耶何耶大又設立了守門的來把守永恆主之殿的各門；所以無論為了甚麼事而不潔淨的人都不得進去。他又率領了百夫長、貴顯的人、民間的官長、以及國中眾民；他們請王從永恆主的殿下來；他們由上門中進入王宮，就使王坐了國位。國中眾民全都歡喜快樂，合城也都平靜；人已經將亞他利雅用刀殺死了。

都堅持跟着他們的族弟兄貴顯人參加發咒起誓的事、要力行上帝的律法，由上帝的僕人摩西經手所傳授的，要謹守遵行永恆主我們的主的一切誡命典章律例；

眾人就說：『我們必定要歸還，不再向他們討：你怎麼說，我們就怎麼行好啦。』我就把祭司們召了來，叫眾人起誓，要照所說的這話而行。

於是二人在永恆主面前立了約；大衛仍住在何列沙，約拿單卻回家去了。

於是守殿官同差役去，把使徒帶來，並沒有用暴力，因為怕人民，恐怕他們被人用石頭打死。

約拿單和大衛結盟，因為約拿單愛大衛如同愛自己的性命。

守殿官和祭司長聽見了這些報告的話，心裏很為難，不知道事情要怎樣變化。

以及他們的族弟兄、他們父系家屬的族長、一千七百六十人，都是才德之士、很能作上帝殿內事務之工的。

鑑於這一切的事，我們便立了確定不移的約字，寫明了它；我們的首領、我們的利未人和祭司、都蓋了印。

王站在柱旁，在永恆主面前立約，要全心全意地跟從永恆主，謹守他的誡命、法令、律例，來實行這書上所寫這約的話；眾民也都站着承認這約。

約瑟叫以色列的子孫起誓、就說：『上帝必定眷顧你們；你們要把我的骸骨從這裏搬上去。』
