In the seventh year Jehoiada sent for the commanders of units of a hundred, the Carites and the guards and had them brought to him at the temple of the Lord. He made a covenant with them and put them under oath at the temple of the Lord. Then he showed them the king’s son.

In the seventh year of Athaliah’s reign, Jehoiada the priest summoned the commanders, the Carite mercenaries, and the palace guards to come to the Temple of the Lord. He made a solemn pact with them and made them swear an oath of loyalty there in the Lord’s Temple; then he showed them the king’s son.

In the seventh year Jehoiada summoned the officers of the units of hundreds of the Carians and the royal bodyguard. He met with them in the LORD’s temple. He made an agreement with them and made them swear an oath of allegiance in the LORD’s temple. Then he showed them the king’s son.

眾百夫長就照着耶何耶大祭司一切所吩咐的去做，各帶自己的人，無論安息日值班或不值班的，都到耶何耶大祭司那裏。

又率領百夫長，迦利人和護衛兵，以及國中的眾百姓，請王從耶和華的殿下來，由護衛兵的門進入王宮，他就坐上王位。

耶何耶大使王和百姓與耶和華立約，作耶和華的子民，又使王與百姓立約。

他們立約，要盡心盡性尋求耶和華－他們列祖的神。

王站在自己的位上，在耶和華面前立約，要盡心盡性跟從耶和華，遵守他的誡命、法度、律例，實行這書上所記這約的話；又使所有住耶路撒冷和便雅憫的人都服從這約。於是耶路撒冷的居民都遵行神，就是他們列祖之神的約。

我指着永生的耶和華－你的神起誓，無論哪一邦哪一國，我主都派人去找你。若他們說：『不在這裏』，他就叫那邦那國的人起誓說，他們實在找不到你。

現在我心中有意與耶和華－以色列的神立約，好使他的烈怒轉離我們。

那日，約書亞就與百姓立約，在示劍為他們制定律例典章。

第七年，耶何耶大奮勇自強，叫了耶羅罕的兒子亞撒利雅、約哈難的兒子以實瑪利、俄備得的兒子亞撒利雅、亞大雅的兒子瑪西雅，和細基利的兒子以利沙法等眾百夫長，與他們立約。他們走遍猶大，從猶大各城召集利未人和以色列的眾族長到耶路撒冷來。全會眾在神殿裏與王立約。耶何耶大對他們說：「看哪，王的兒子必作王，正如耶和華指着大衛子孫所應許的。你們要這樣做：在安息日值班的祭司和利未人，三分之一要把守各門，三分之一要在王宮，三分之一要在根基門；眾百姓都要在耶和華殿的院內。除了祭司和供職的利未人之外，不准別人進耶和華的殿；只有他們可以進去，因為他們是神聖的。眾百姓都要遵守耶和華所吩咐的。利未人要手中各拿兵器，四圍保護王；凡擅自進殿的，要被處死。王出入的時候，你們當跟隨他。」利未人和猶大眾人都照着耶何耶大祭司一切所吩咐的去做，各帶自己的人，無論安息日值班或不值班的都來，因為耶何耶大祭司不許他們下班。耶何耶大祭司就把神殿裏所藏大衛王的槍和大小盾牌交給百夫長，又分派眾百姓手中各拿兵器，在祭壇和殿那裏，從殿南到殿北，站在王的四圍；他們領約阿施出來，給他戴上冠冕，把律法書交給他，立他作王。耶何耶大和他的兒子們膏他，他們說：「願王萬歲！」亞她利雅聽見百姓奔走讚美王的聲音，就進耶和華的殿，到百姓那裏。她觀看，看哪，王站在殿門的柱旁，百夫長和號手在王旁邊，國中的眾百姓都歡樂吹號，又有歌唱的人用樂器領人歌唱讚美。亞她利雅就撕裂衣服，喊着說：「反了！反了！」耶何耶大祭司帶領管軍兵的百夫長出來，對他們說：「把她從行列之間趕出去，凡跟隨她的必用刀殺死！」因為祭司說：「不可在耶和華殿裏殺她。」他們就下手拿住她；她進入通往王宮的馬門，他們就在那裏把她殺了。耶何耶大與眾百姓，又與王立約，要作耶和華的子民。於是眾百姓到巴力廟去，拆毀了廟，打碎祭壇和偶像，又在壇前把巴力的祭司瑪坦殺了。耶何耶大派官員在利未家的祭司手下看守耶和華的殿，他們是大衛所分派的，在耶和華殿中照摩西律法上所寫，獻燔祭給耶和華，又按大衛所定的，歡樂歌唱。耶何耶大又設立守衛把守耶和華殿的各門，無論因何事而不潔淨的人，都不准進去。他又率領百夫長和貴族，與民間的官長，以及國中的眾百姓，請王從耶和華的殿下來，由上門正中進入王宮，使王坐在國度的王位上。國中的眾百姓都歡樂，合城也都平靜。他們已將亞她利雅用刀殺了。

都隨從他們貴族的弟兄發咒起誓，要遵行神藉他僕人摩西所賜的律法，謹守遵行耶和華－我們主的一切誡命、典章、律例。

貴族和官長說：「我們必歸還，不再向他們索取，必照你所說的去做。」我就召了祭司來，叫貴族和官長起誓，必照這話去做。

於是二人在耶和華面前立約。大衛仍住在樹林裏，約拿單就回家去了。

於是守殿官和差役去帶使徒來，並沒有用暴力，因為怕百姓用石頭打他們。

約拿單愛大衛如同愛自己的性命，就與他立約。

守殿官和祭司長聽了這些話，心裏困惑，不知這事將來如何。

他們和他們的弟兄都是族長，共有一千七百六十人，都善於做神殿的事工。

因這一切，我們立確實的約，寫在冊上。我們的領袖、利未人和祭司都用了印。

王站在柱子旁邊，在耶和華面前立約，要盡心盡性跟從耶和華，遵守他的誡命、法度、律例，實行這書上所寫這約的話。全體百姓都願遵守所立的約。

約瑟叫以色列的子孫起誓：「神必定眷顧你們，你們要把我的骸骨從這裏帶上去。」
