Then Jehoiada the priest bored a hole in the lid of a large chest and set it on the right hand side of the altar at the entrance of the Temple of the Lord. The priests guarding the entrance put all of the people’s contributions into the chest.

祭司示辦雅、約沙法、拿坦業、亞瑪賽、撒迦利雅、比拿雅、以利亞撒、皆在天主匱前吹角、俄別以東與耶葉、亦守匱前之門、

爾可往見大祭司希勒家、使核數守門者所取於民奉於主殿之銀、

王命作櫃、置於主殿門外、在猶大及耶路撒冷宣告、命民捐銀獻於主、循天主僕摩西在曠野所命以色列人之例、諸牧伯與民眾欣喜、攜銀投於櫃、待櫃盈乃已、待櫃盈乃已或作待銀足用乃已利未人見銀已多、舁櫃至王所以察之、王之繕寫與祭司長之屬吏來、傾空其櫃、以櫃復置其所、日日如是、積銀無算、王與耶何耶大以銀予在主殿理事之人、遂雇石工木工、以新主殿、又雇鐵工銅工、以葺主殿、諸工操作、以天主殿修葺鞏固、工作既畢、使殿與昔時無異、其工告成、以餘銀攜至王及耶何耶大前、以之為主殿作器、即奉事時及獻祭所用之器、又作碗與別類之金銀諸器、耶何耶大在世時、國人恆在主殿獻火焚祭、
