Ahaz was twenty years old when he became king, and he reigned in Jerusalem sixteen years. Unlike David his father, he did not do what was right in the eyes of the Lord his God.

亚哈斯二十岁登基，在耶路撒冷执政十六年。他没有效法他祖先大卫做耶和华视为正的事，反而步以色列诸王的后尘，又铸造巴力神像。他不但在欣嫩子谷烧香，还效法耶和华在以色列人面前赶走的外族人的可憎行径，焚烧自己的儿子作祭物。他还在丘坛、山冈和绿树下献祭烧香。

所罗门年老的时候，他的嫔妃诱惑他的心去追随别的神明。他没有像他父亲大卫那样忠心顺服他的上帝耶和华。所罗门拜西顿人的女神亚斯她录和亚扪人的可憎神明米勒公。他做了耶和华视为恶的事，没有像他父亲大卫那样忠心顺服耶和华。在耶路撒冷东面的山上，所罗门为摩押人可憎的神明基抹和亚扪人可憎的神明摩洛修建丘坛。他又为所有的外邦妃嫔修建丘坛，供她们向自己的神明烧香献祭。

亚比央和他父亲一样作恶多端，没有像他祖先大卫一样忠于他的上帝耶和华。

约坦效法他父亲乌西雅，做耶和华视为正的事，

希西迦效法他祖先大卫，做耶和华视为正的事。

约西亚做耶和华视为正的事，事事效法他祖先大卫，不偏不离。

耶和华与约沙法同在，因为他效法他祖先大卫起初所行的，没有寻求巴力，

希西迦效法他祖先大卫，做耶和华视为正的事。

你若像你父亲大卫一样遵行我的道，遵守我的律例和诫命，我必使你长寿。”
