The king of Assyria complied by attacking Damascus and capturing it. He deported its inhabitants to Kir and put Rezin to death.

So the king of Assyria did what Ahaz asked him to do. He attacked the city of Damascus and captured it. He sent its people away to Kir. And he put Rezin to death.

And the king of Assyria listened to him. The king of Assyria marched up against Damascus and took it, carrying its people captive to Kir, and he killed Rezin.

So the king of Assyria attacked the Aramean capital of Damascus and led its population away as captives, resettling them in Kir. He also killed King Rezin.

耶和華說：「以色列人哪，我豈不是看你們如古實人嗎？我豈不是領以色列人出埃及地，也領非利士人出迦斐託，領亞蘭人出吉珥嗎？

以攔提着箭袋，有戰車、士兵、騎兵；吉珥亮出盾牌，

耶和華如此說：「大馬士革三番四次犯罪，以鐵的打穀機擊打基列，我必不撤銷對它的懲罰。我要降火在哈薛的王宮，吞滅便‧哈達的宮殿；我要折斷大馬士革的門閂，剪除亞文平原的居民和伯‧伊甸的掌權者，亞蘭人必被擄到吉珥。」這是耶和華說的。

因此，耶和華興起利汛的敵人前來攻擊以色列，要激起它的仇敵，

亞哈斯從耶和華殿裏和王宮中，以及眾領袖家中取財寶送給亞述王，也無濟於事。

因為在這孩子還不曉得棄惡擇善之先，你所憎惡的那兩個王的土地必被撇棄。

耶和華－他的神將他交在亞蘭王手裏。亞蘭王打敗他，從他擄走了許多人，帶到大馬士革去。神又將他交在以色列王手裏，以色列王向他大行殺戮。
