亞述的將軍說：「你們去告訴希西迦，偉大的亞述王說，『你憑什麼這樣自信呢？

拉伯沙基说：“你们去告诉希西家说，亚述大王如此说：‘你所倚靠的有什么可仗赖的呢？

将军对他们说：“你们去告诉希西家，大王亚述王如此说：‘你倚靠什么，让你如此自信满满？

将军对他们说：“你们去告诉希西家，大王亚述王如此说：‘你倚靠什么，让你如此自信满满？

亚述的将军说：“你们去告诉希西迦，伟大的亚述王说，‘你凭什么这样自信呢？

拉伯沙基对他们说：“你们要对希西家说：‘亚述大王这样说：你所倚赖的这种防御算是什么呢？

拉伯沙基說：「你們去告訴希西家說，亞述大王如此說：『你所倚靠的有甚麼可仗賴的呢？

將軍對他們說：「你們去告訴希西家，大王亞述王如此說：『你倚靠甚麼，讓你如此自信滿滿？

將軍對他們說：「你們去告訴希西家，大王亞述王如此說：『你倚靠甚麼，讓你如此自信滿滿？

拉伯沙基對他們說：“你們要對希西家說：‘亞述大王這樣說：你所倚賴的這種防禦算是甚麼呢？

參謀長對他們說：『你們去對希西家說：「大王亞述王這麼說：你所倚靠的這種倚靠心算得了甚麼？

拉伯沙基謂之曰、其告希西家曰、大王亞述王云、爾所恃者何耶、

臘沙基曰、爾當告希西家、亞述大王云、爾誰恃、

拉伯沙基謂之曰、爾曹告希西家曰、亞述大王如是云、爾何所恃耶、

The field commander said to them,“ Tell Hezekiah:“‘ This is what the great king, the king of Assyria, says: On what are you basing this confidence of yours?

The field commander said to them,“ Give Hezekiah this message. Tell him,“‘ Sennacherib is the great king of Assyria. He says,“ Why are you putting your faith in what your king says?

And the Rabshakeh said to them,“ Say to Hezekiah,‘ Thus says the great king, the king of Assyria: On what do you rest this trust of yours?

Then the Assyrian king’s chief of staff told them to give this message to Hezekiah:“ This is what the great king of Assyria says: What are you trusting in that makes you so confident?

Then the royal spokesman said to them,“ Tell Hezekiah this is what the great king, the king of Assyria, says:‘ What are you relying on?

And Rabshakeh said to them,“ Say now to Hezekiah,‘ This is what the great king, the king of Assyria says:“ What is this confidence that you have?

Then the Rabshakeh said to them,“ Say now to Hezekiah,‘ Thus says the great king, the king of Assyria:“ What confidence is this in which you trust?

And Rabshakeh said unto them, Say ye now to Hezekiah, Thus saith the great king, the king of Assyria, What confidence is this wherein thou trustest?

Then the Rabshakeh said to them,“ Tell Hezekiah this is what the great king, the king of Assyria, says:‘ What are you relying on?

And Rabshakeh said unto them, Speak ye now to Hezekiah, Thus saith the great king, the king of Assyria, What confidence[ is] this wherein thou trustest?

The chief adviser said to them,“ Tell Hezekiah:‘ This is what the great king, the king of Assyria, says:“ What is your source of confidence?

Rabshakeh said to them,“ Say now to Hezekiah,‘ The great king, the king of Assyria, says,“ What confidence is this in which you trust?

亞述的將軍對他們說：「你們去告訴希西迦，偉大的亞述王說，『你憑什麼這樣自信呢？

我祖先所滅的列國中，有哪國的神明能從我手中救自己的國民呢？難道你們的上帝能從我手中救你們嗎？所以，不要讓希西迦欺騙、迷惑你們，也不要相信他！任何民族或國家的神明都不能從我和我祖先手中救他的人民，何況你們的上帝呢？』」亞述王的使者還用別的話譭謗耶和華上帝和祂的僕人希西迦。

「你們要剛強勇敢，不要在亞述王和他的大軍面前恐懼驚慌，因為與我們同在的比與他同在的更有能力。那與他同在的只是血肉之軀，與我們同在的卻是我們的上帝耶和華，祂必幫助我們，為我們作戰。」眾人因猶大王希西迦的這番話而得到鼓舞。

他說，『我的臣僕都要做藩王！迦勒挪豈不是和迦基米施一樣嗎？哈馬豈不是和亞珥拔一樣嗎？撒瑪利亞豈不是和大馬士革一樣嗎？它們不是都被我征服了嗎？這些國家都在我的手中，他們雕刻的偶像不勝過耶路撒冷和撒瑪利亞的偶像嗎？我怎樣毀滅撒瑪利亞和它的偶像，也必怎樣毀滅耶路撒冷和它的偶像。』」主完成在錫安山和耶路撒冷要做的事後，必懲罰心裡狂妄、眼目高傲的亞述王。因為亞述王說：「我靠自己的力量和智慧成就了此事，因為我很聰明。我廢除列國的疆界，擄掠他們的財物，像勇士一樣征服他們的君王。我奪取列國的財物，好像探囊取物；我征服天下，不過是手到擒來；無人反抗，無人吭聲。」

哈馬王、亞珥拔王、西法瓦音城的王、希拿王和以瓦王如今在哪裡呢？」

世人啊！你們把我的榮耀變為羞辱要到何時呢？你們追求虛謊之事要到何時呢？（細拉）

「不要讓你所倚靠的上帝愚弄你，說什麼耶路撒冷必不會被亞述王攻陷。

「不要讓你所倚靠的上帝愚弄你，說什麼耶路撒冷必不會落在亞述王手中。

也許你會說，『我們倚靠我們的上帝耶和華。』希西迦不是拆除了祂的廟宇和祭壇，又吩咐猶大和耶路撒冷的人要在耶路撒冷的祭壇前敬拜祂嗎？

說：「這宏偉的巴比倫豈不是我用大能建立為京都，以顯我的威嚴和榮耀嗎？」

也許你說，『我們倚靠我們的上帝耶和華。』希西迦不是拆毀了祂的廟宇和祭壇，又吩咐猶大和耶路撒冷的人只能在這座祭壇前敬拜嗎？

王說，『你們不要被希西迦欺騙，他不能從我手中救你們。不要聽希西迦的話去倚靠耶和華，說什麼耶和華必拯救你們，這城必不會落在亞述王手中。』

「亞述王西拿基立這樣說，『你們仍然留在被困的耶路撒冷，究竟倚仗什麼呢？希西迦說你們的上帝耶和華會從亞述王手中拯救你們，難道你們不知道這是哄騙你們的話，是要叫你們留在這裡饑渴至死嗎？
