我要毀滅你們的邱壇，拆掉你們的香壇，把你們的屍體堆在你們毫無氣息的神像上。我厭惡你們。

「你們趕走那裡的列邦後，要徹底摧毀他們在高山上、丘陵上、綠樹下供奉其神明的地方。你們要拆毀他們的祭壇，打碎他們的神柱，焚燒他們的亞舍拉神像，砍倒他們的偶像，使它們的名字從那裡消失。

那時候，用來尊崇耶和華之名的殿還沒有建成，以色列人仍然在邱壇獻祭。所羅門愛耶和華，遵行他父親大衛的律例，只是仍然在邱壇獻祭燒香。

約沙法事事效法他父親亞撒，不偏不離，做耶和華視為正的事。但他沒有拆毀邱壇，百姓仍然在那裡獻祭燒香。

第二天清早，城裡的人發現巴力的祭壇已經被人拆毀，壇旁的亞舍拉神像被砍倒，第二頭公牛被獻在新建的祭壇上。

你們要拆毀他們的祭壇，打碎他們的神柱，砍下他們的亞舍拉神像，焚燒他們的偶像。

那天晚上，耶和華吩咐基甸：「牽來你父親的第二頭牛，就是那頭七歲的牛，拆毀你父親為巴力築的祭壇，砍倒壇旁的亞舍拉神像。

不可叩拜他們的神明，不可供奉它們，也不可效法他們的行為，要徹底拆毀神像，打碎他們的神柱。

也許你會說，『我們倚靠我們的上帝耶和華。』希西迦不是拆除了祂的廟宇和祭壇，又吩咐猶大和耶路撒冷的人要在耶路撒冷的祭壇前敬拜祂嗎？

但他沒有拆毀邱壇，人們仍在那裡獻祭燒香。

摩西在曠野怎樣舉起銅蛇，人子也必照樣被舉起來，叫一切信祂的人都得到永生。

他吩咐烏利亞祭司：「要在這座大壇上獻早晨的燔祭、晚上的素祭，王的燔祭、素祭，國中民眾的燔祭、素祭和奠祭，燔祭牲和平安祭牲的血也要灑在上面，但銅壇要供我個人求問之用。」

然而你還有善行，因為你剷除境內的亞舍拉神像，立志尋求上帝。」

王吩咐大祭司希勒迦及其副手和殿門守衛清除耶和華殿裡用來祭拜巴力、亞舍拉及天上萬象的一切器具，將其搬到耶路撒冷城外汲淪溪旁的田野燒掉，又把灰燼帶到伯特利。

他們建造邱壇，惹祂發怒；他們豎起神像，令祂憤怒。
