One day the leaders of the town of Jericho visited Elisha.“ We have a problem, my lord,” they told him.“ This town is located in pleasant surroundings, as you can see. But the water is bad, and the land is unproductive.”

耶利哥城的人对以利沙说：“这城的地势美好，我主看见了；只是水恶劣，土产不熟而落。”

耶利哥城的人对以利沙说：“看哪，这城的地势美好，正如我主所看见的，只是水质恶劣，地也没有生产。”

耶利哥城的人对以利沙说：“看哪，这城的地势美好，正如我主所看见的，只是水质恶劣，地也没有生产。”

耶利哥城的人对以利沙说：“我主，你看这城地势很好，只是水不好，地里长不出庄稼。”

那城的人对以利沙说：“请看这城的地势很好，老师你也看见，可惜水恶劣，以致此地没有出产。”

耶利哥城的人對以利沙說：「這城的地勢美好，我主看見了；只是水惡劣，土產不熟而落。」

耶利哥城的人對以利沙說：「看哪，這城的地勢美好，正如我主所看見的，只是水質惡劣，地也沒有生產。」

耶利哥城的人對以利沙說：「看哪，這城的地勢美好，正如我主所看見的，只是水質惡劣，地也沒有生產。」

耶利哥城的人對以利沙說：「我主，你看這城地勢很好，只是水不好，地裡長不出莊稼。」

那城的人對以利沙說：“請看這城的地勢很好，老師你也看見，可惜水惡劣，以致此地沒有出產。”

耶利哥城的人對以利沙說：『您請看，這城坐落很好，正如我老師所看到的；不過水壞，以致此地不能生產。』

邑民謂以利沙曰、試觀此邑、地勢佳美、我主所見也、惟其水惡劣、土產不稔而隕、

邑人告以利沙曰、邑所建之處、便於利涉、我師所目睹也。然其水不佳、其土不產。

耶利歌邑人告以利沙曰、居於此邑為美、我主所知、然其水惡劣、使土硝瘠、或作使人小產

The people of the city said to Elisha,“ Look, our lord, this town is well situated, as you can see, but the water is bad and the land is unproductive.”

The people of Jericho said to Elisha,“ Look. This town has a good location. You can see that for yourself. But the spring of water here is bad. So the land doesn’t produce anything.”

Now the men of the city said to Elisha,“ Behold, the situation of this city is pleasant, as my lord sees, but the water is bad, and the land is unfruitful.”

The men of the city said to Elisha,“ My lord can see that even though the city’s location is good, the water is bad and the land unfruitful.”

Then the men of the city said to Elisha,“ Behold now, the site of the city is pleasant, as my lord sees; but the water is bad and the land is unfruitful.”

Then the men of the city said to Elisha,“ Please notice, the situation of this city is pleasant, as my Lord sees; but the water is bad, and the ground barren.”

And the men of the city said unto Elisha, Behold, we pray thee, the situation of this city is pleasant, as my lord seeth: but the water is bad, and the land miscarrieth.

Then the men of the city said to Elisha,“ Even though our lord can see that the city’s location is good, the water is bad and the land unfruitful.”

And the men of the city said unto Elisha, Behold, I pray thee, the situation of this city[ is] pleasant, as my lord seeth: but the water[ is] naught, and the ground barren.

The men of the city said to Elisha,“ Look, the city has a good location, as our master can see. But the water is bad and the land doesn’t produce crops.”

The men of the city said to Elisha,“ Behold, please, the situation of this city is pleasant, as my lord sees; but the water is bad, and the land is barren.”

“ But if you refuse to listen to the Lord your God and do not obey all the commands and decrees I am giving you today, all these curses will come and overwhelm you:Your towns and your fields will be cursed.Your fruit baskets and breadboards will be cursed.Your children and your crops will be cursed. The offspring of your herds and flocks will be cursed.

There will be no miscarriages or infertility in your land, and I will give you long, full lives.

When they came to the oasis of Marah, the water was too bitter to drink. So they called the place Marah( which means“ bitter”).

“ The Lord will give you prosperity in the land he swore to your ancestors to give you, blessing you with many children, numerous livestock, and abundant crops.

Has no one told you, my lord, about the time when Jezebel was trying to kill the Lord’s prophets? I hid 100 of them in two caves and supplied them with food and water.

At that time Joshua invoked this curse:“ May the curse of the Lord fall on anyone who tries to rebuild the town of Jericho. At the cost of his firstborn son, he will lay its foundation. At the cost of his youngest son, he will set up its gates.”

Jericho and everything in it must be completely destroyed as an offering to the Lord. Only Rahab the prostitute and the others in her house will be spared, for she protected our spies.

It was during his reign that Hiel, a man from Bethel, rebuilt Jericho. When he laid its foundations, it cost him the life of his oldest son, Abiram. And when he completed it and set up its gates, it cost him the life of his youngest son, Segub. This all happened according to the message from the Lord concerning Jericho spoken by Joshua son of Nun.

As Obadiah was walking along, he suddenly saw Elijah coming toward him. Obadiah recognized him at once and bowed low to the ground before him.“ Is it really you, my lord Elijah?” he asked.

You will experience all these blessings if you obey the Lord your God:Your towns and your fields will be blessed.Your children and your crops will be blessed. The offspring of your herds and flocks will be blessed.

he cried out to Moses,“ Oh, my master! Please don’t punish us for this sin we have so foolishly committed.

O Lord, what should I request for your people? I will ask for wombs that don’t give birth and breasts that give no milk.

Then the Lord said to Moses:“ Tell Aaron,‘ Take your staff and raise your hand over the waters of Egypt— all its rivers, canals, ponds, and all the reservoirs. Turn all the water to blood. Everywhere in Egypt the water will turn to blood, even the water stored in wooden bowls and stone pots.’”

Elders who do their work well should be respected and paid well, especially those who work hard at both preaching and teaching.
