約西亞即位、年僅八齡、都耶路撒冷、凡三十一年、行善於耶和華前、繩厥祖大闢之武、無偏無頗。八年王尚幼沖、崇事其祖大闢之上帝、十二年在猶大國耶路撒冷邑、廢諸崇坵、伐諸林木、毀諸偶像、王使人毀巴力壇、日像高懸於側、王斫之、伐林木、擣偶像成粉、揚於祭偶者之塚。昔有祭司、獻祭於斯壇、王焚其骨於上、於是猶大國、耶路撒冷邑成潔。在馬拿西、以法蓮、西面諸邑、延及納大利毀諸淫祠。於是以色列全地、毀祭壇、伐林木、擣偶像成粉、乃歸耶路撒冷。十八年、土地與殿宇均潔、王遣亞薩利子沙番、邑宰馬西雅、繕寫約哈斯子約亞、修葺殿宇。昔司閽之利未人、取金於馬拿西族以法蓮族、以色列遺民、猶大族、便雅憫族、耶路撒冷邑、置於上帝殿、沙番等以金饋祭司長希勒家、予統轄耶和華殿之工師、俾分與修葺殿之百工、先是諸室棟梁、為猶大王所毀、今以金予版築鑿石諸工、俾購材雕石、悉加修葺、操作者秉性誠實、利未人米喇哩族、雅哈、阿巴底、為督役長。哥轄族、撒加利亞、米書闌、與他利未人、能操樂器、催督百工、為負荷者工作者之長、利未人、或繕寫、或督役、或司閽、取耶和華殿所貯之金、時祭司希勒家忽得摩西所傳耶和華律例之書、告繕寫沙番曰、我在耶和華殿、得律例之書、乃以書授沙番、沙番以書奉王、復於王曰、王命會計殿中所貯之金、與統轄百工者、臣僕悉惟命是遵、

器小者為王、則群臣以飲食為先、而邦必危矣。

希西家生馬拿西、馬拿西生亞門、亞門生約西亞、

終於約西亞長子約雅金為王於猶大、次子西底家在位十一年、是年五月、耶路撒冷民遷於巴比倫、

使器少年稚者為君、以治斯民。

亞門子約西亞為王於猶大、耶和華命希西家玄孫亞馬哩曾孫其大利孫古示子西番雅、曰、

馬拿西乃協西巴所出、年十有二即位、於耶路撒冷、凡歷五十五年。

指壇而呼曰、嗟乎此壇、耶和華有命云、大闢之家必挺生一子、名約西亞、取崇邱之祭司、焚香於是壇者、獻於壇上、亦取死者之骨、焚於此壇。

爾以赤子乳哺者之口、極力以頌揚、使仇敵緘口而不張。

約轄即位之時、年僅七齡。
