Then Shaphan the scribe showed the king, saying,“ Hilkiah the priest has given me a book.” And Shaphan read it before the king.

又奏王曰、祭司希勒家授我一書、遂讀於王前、

又曰、祭司希勒家以書予我。遂取書陳王、誦於王前。

Then Shaphan the secretary informed the king,“ Hilkiah the priest has given me a book.” And Shaphan read from it in the presence of the king.

Shaphan continued,“ Hilkiah the priest has given me a book.” Shaphan read some of it to the king.

Then Shaphan the secretary told the king,“ Hilkiah the priest has given me a book.” And Shaphan read it before the king.

Shaphan also told the king,“ Hilkiah the priest has given me a scroll.” So Shaphan read it to the king.

Then the court secretary Shaphan told the king,“ The priest Hilkiah has given me a book,” and Shaphan read it in the presence of the king.

Moreover, Shaphan the scribe informed the king, saying,“ Hilkiah the priest has given me a book.” And Shaphan read it in the presence of the king.

And Shaphan the scribe told the king, saying, Hilkiah the priest hath delivered me a book. And Shaphan read it before the king.

Then Shaphan the court secretary told the king,“ Hilkiah the priest has given me a book,” and Shaphan read it in the presence of the king.

And Shaphan the scribe shewed the king, saying, Hilkiah the priest hath delivered me a book. And Shaphan read it before the king.

Then Shaphan the scribe told the king,“ Hilkiah the priest has given me a scroll.” Shaphan read it out loud before the king.

Shaphan the scribe told the king, saying,“ Hilkiah the priest has delivered a book to me.” Then Shaphan read it before the king.

So the king sent Jehudi to bring the scroll, and he took it from Elishama the scribe’s chamber. And Jehudi read it in the hearing of the king and in the hearing of all the princes who stood beside the king.

Say to the king and to the queen mother,“ Humble yourselves; Sit down, For your rule shall collapse, the crown of your glory.”

Thus says the Lord:“ Go down to the house of the king of Judah, and there speak this word,and say,‘ Hear the word of the Lord, O king of Judah, you who sit on the throne of David, you and your servants and your people who enter these gates!

Then Shaphan the scribe told the king, saying,“ Hilkiah the priest has given me a book.” And Shaphan read it before the king.

On that day they read from the Book of Moses in the hearing of the people, and in it was found written that no Ammonite or Moabite should ever come into the assembly of God,

And they said to him,“ Sit down now, and read it in our hearing.” So Baruch read it in their hearing.

So Moses wrote this law and delivered it to the priests, the sons of Levi, who bore the ark of the covenant of the Lord, and to all the elders of Israel.And Moses commanded them, saying:“ At the end of every seven years, at the appointed time in the year of release, at the Feast of Tabernacles,when all Israel comes to appear before the Lord your God in the place which He chooses, you shall read this law before all Israel in their hearing.Gather the people together, men and women and little ones, and the stranger who is within your gates, that they may hear and that they may learn to fear the Lord your God and carefully observe all the words of this law,and that their children, who have not known it, may hear and learn to fear the Lord your God as long as you live in the land which you cross the Jordan to possess.”

And they found written in the Law, which the Lord had commanded by Moses, that the children of Israel should dwell in booths during the feast of the seventh month,and that they should announce and proclaim in all their cities and in Jerusalem, saying,“ Go out to the mountain, and bring olive branches, branches of oil trees, myrtle branches, palm branches, and branches of leafy trees, to make booths, as it is written.”

“ Also it shall be, when he sits on the throne of his kingdom, that he shall write for himself a copy of this law in a book, from the one before the priests, the Levites.And it shall be with him, and he shall read it all the days of his life, that he may learn to fear the Lord his God and be careful to observe all the words of this law and these statutes,that his heart may not be lifted above his brethren, that he may not turn aside from the commandment to the right hand or to the left, and that he may prolong his days in his kingdom, he and his children in the midst of Israel.

Now all the people gathered together as one man in the open square that was in front of the Water Gate; and they told Ezra the scribe to bring the Book of the Law of Moses, which the Lord had commanded Israel.So Ezra the priest brought the Law before the assembly of men and women and all who could hear with understanding on the first day of the seventh month.Then he read from it in the open square that was in front of the Water Gate from morning until midday, before the men and women and those who could understand; and the ears of all the people were attentive to the Book of the Law.So Ezra the scribe stood on a platform of wood which they had made for the purpose; and beside him, at his right hand, stood Mattithiah, Shema, Anaiah, Urijah, Hilkiah, and Maaseiah; and at his left hand Pedaiah, Mishael, Malchijah, Hashum, Hashbadana, Zechariah, and Meshullam.And Ezra opened the book in the sight of all the people, for he was standing above all the people; and when he opened it, all the people stood up.And Ezra blessed the Lord, the great God. Then all the people answered,“ Amen, Amen!” while lifting up their hands. And they bowed their heads and worshiped the Lord with their faces to the ground.Also Jeshua, Bani, Sherebiah, Jamin, Akkub, Shabbethai, Hodijah, Maaseiah, Kelita, Azariah, Jozabad, Hanan, Pelaiah, and the Levites, helped the people to understand the Law; and the people stood in their place.

You go, therefore, and read from the scroll which you have written at my instruction, the words of the Lord, in the hearing of the people in the LORD’s house on the day of fasting. And you shall also read them in the hearing of all Judah who come from their cities.

Also day by day, from the first day until the last day, he read from the Book of the Law of God. And they kept the feast seven days; and on the eighth day there was a sacred assembly, according to the prescribed manner.
