汝其往哉、為我為民、為猶大眾、以此書之言、詢於耶和華、因我列祖不聽此書之言、不遵所載諭我儕者而行、故耶和華向我、發怒甚烈、

爾曹往哉、為我及猶大全族之民、諮諏耶和華、蓋我列祖、未從此書所言、干耶和華震怒。

爾往、為我、為民、為猶大全族、因此書之言問於主、我列祖不聽從此書之言、不遵此書所載一切諭我之命而行、主之烈怒、必向我如火之烈、

“ Go and inquire of the Lord for me and for the people and for all Judah about what is written in this book that has been found. Great is the Lord’s anger that burns against us because those who have gone before us have not obeyed the words of this book; they have not acted in accordance with all that is written there concerning us.”

“ Go. Ask the Lord for advice. Ask him about what is written in this book that has been found. Do it for me. Also do it for the people and the whole nation of Judah. The Lord is very angry with us. That’s because our people who have lived before us didn’t obey the words of this book. They didn’t do everything written there about us.”

“ Go, inquire of the Lord for me, and for the people, and for all Judah, concerning the words of this book that has been found. For great is the wrath of the Lord that is kindled against us, because our fathers have not obeyed the words of this book, to do according to all that is written concerning us.”

“ Go to the Temple and speak to the Lord for me and for the people and for all Judah. Inquire about the words written in this scroll that has been found. For the Lord’s great anger is burning against us because our ancestors have not obeyed the words in this scroll. We have not been doing everything it says we must do.”

“ Go and inquire of the LORD for me, for the people, and for all Judah about the words in this book that has been found. For great is the LORD’s wrath that is kindled against us because our ancestors have not obeyed the words of this book in order to do everything written about us.”

“ Go, inquire of the Lord for me, for the people and for all Judah, concerning the words of this book that has been found; for great is the wrath of the Lord that is aroused against us, because our fathers have not obeyed the words of this book, to do according to all that is written concerning us.”

Go ye, inquire of Jehovah for me, and for the people, and for all Judah, concerning the words of this book that is found; for great is the wrath of Jehovah that is kindled against us, because our fathers have not hearkened unto the words of this book, to do according unto all that which is written concerning us.

“ Go and inquire of the Lord for me, the people, and all Judah about the instruction in this book that has been found. For great is the Lord’s wrath that is kindled against us because our ancestors have not obeyed the words of this book in order to do everything written about us.”

Go ye, enquire of the LORD for me, and for the people, and for all Judah, concerning the words of this book that is found: for great[ is] the wrath of the LORD that is kindled against us, because our fathers have not hearkened unto the words of this book, to do according unto all that which is written concerning us.

“ Go, seek an oracle from the LORD for me and the people– for all Judah. Find out about the words of this scroll that has been discovered. For the LORD’s fury has been ignited against us, because our ancestors have not obeyed the words of this scroll by doing all that it instructs us to do.”

“ Go inquire of Yahweh for me, and for the people, and for all Judah, concerning the words of this book that is found; for great is Yahweh’s wrath that is kindled against us, because our fathers have not listened to the words of this book, to do according to all that which is written concerning us.”

又看見遍地有硫磺，有鹽鹵，有火跡，沒有耕種，沒有出產，連草都不生長－好像耶和華在忿怒中所傾覆的所多瑪、蛾摩拉、押瑪、洗扁一樣－所看見的人，連萬國人，都必問說：『耶和華為何向此地這樣行呢？這樣大發烈怒是甚麼意思呢？』人必回答說：『是因這地的人離棄了耶和華－他們列祖的神，領他們出埃及地的時候與他們所立的約，去事奉敬拜素不認識的別神，是耶和華所未曾給他們安排的。所以耶和華的怒氣向這地發作，將這書上所寫的一切咒詛都降在這地上。耶和華在怒氣、忿怒、大惱恨中將他們從本地拔出來，扔在別的地上，像今日一樣。』

那時，我的怒氣必向他們發作；我也必離棄他們，掩面不顧他們，以致他們被吞滅，並有許多的禍患災難臨到他們。那日他們必說：『這些禍患臨到我們，豈不是因我們的神不在我們中間嗎？』那時，因他們偏向別神所行的一切惡，我必定掩面不顧他們。

也沒有聽從耶和華－我們神的話，沒有遵行他藉僕人眾先知向我們所陳明的律法。

西底家王打發人提出他來，在自己的宮內私下問他說：「從耶和華有甚麼話臨到沒有？」耶利米說：「有！」又說：「你必交在巴比倫王手中。」

我們定要成就我們口中所出的一切話，向天后燒香、澆奠祭，按着我們與我們列祖、君王、首領在猶大的城邑中和耶路撒冷的街市上素常所行的一樣；因為那時我們吃飽飯、享福樂，並不見災禍。

不可跪拜那些像，也不可事奉它，因為我耶和華－你的神是忌邪的神。恨我的，我必追討他的罪，自父及子，直到三四代；

而且你們行惡比你們列祖更甚；因為各人隨從自己頑梗的惡心行事，甚至不聽從我，

耶和華與敬畏他的人親密；他必將自己的約指示他們。

這樣，掃羅死了。因為他干犯耶和華，沒有遵守耶和華的命；又因他求問交鬼的婦人，沒有求問耶和華，所以耶和華使他被殺，把國歸於耶西的兒子大衛。

耶和華的話臨到耶利米。那時，西底家王打發瑪基雅的兒子巴施戶珥和瑪西雅的兒子祭司西番雅去見耶利米，說：「請你為我們求問耶和華；因為巴比倫王尼布甲尼撒來攻擊我們，或者耶和華照他一切奇妙的作為待我們，使巴比倫王離開我們上去。」

因為他們忿怒的大日到了，誰能站得住呢？」

惟獨你是可畏的！你怒氣一發，誰能在你面前站得住呢？

約沙法說：「這裏不是有耶和華的先知嗎？我們可以託他求問耶和華。」以色列王的一個臣子回答說：「這裏有沙法的兒子以利沙，就是從前服事以利亞的。」

我以前沒有律法是活着的；但是誡命來到，罪又活了，我就死了。

約沙法說：「這裏不是還有耶和華的先知，我們可以求問他嗎？」以色列王對約沙法說：「還有一個人，是音拉的兒子米該雅，我們可以託他求問耶和華。只是我恨他；因為他指着我所說的預言，不說吉語，單說凶言。」約沙法說：「王不必這樣說。」

「人子啊，這些人已將他們的假神接到心裏，把陷於罪的絆腳石放在面前，我豈能絲毫被他們求問嗎？所以你要告訴他們：『主耶和華如此說：以色列家的人中，凡將他的假神接到心裏，把陷於罪的絆腳石放在面前，又就了先知來的，我－耶和華在他所求的事上，必按他眾多的假神回答他，

我們犯罪作孽，行惡叛逆，偏離你的誡命典章，沒有聽從你僕人眾先知奉你名向我們君王、首領、列祖，和國中一切百姓所說的話。主啊，你是公義的，我們是臉上蒙羞的；因我們猶大人和耶路撒冷的居民，並以色列眾人，或在近處，或在遠處，被你趕到各國的人，都得罪了你，正如今日一樣。主啊，我們和我們的君王、首領、列祖因得罪了你，就都臉上蒙羞。

在你一切所行的事上都要認定他，他必指引你的路。

那日的四分之一站在自己的地方念耶和華－他們神的律法書，又四分之一認罪，敬拜耶和華－他們的神。

因為律法是惹動忿怒的；哪裏沒有律法，那裏就沒有過犯。

「你們去為我、為以色列和猶大剩下的人，以這書上的話求問耶和華；因我們列祖沒有遵守耶和華的言語，沒有照這書上所記的去行，耶和華的烈怒就倒在我們身上。」

主耶和華若不將奧祕指示他的僕人－眾先知，就一無所行。

我們列祖犯了罪，行耶和華－我們神眼中看為惡的事，離棄他，轉臉背向他的居所，

第七年五月初十日，有以色列的幾個長老來求問耶和華，坐在我面前。耶和華的話臨到我說：「人子啊，你要告訴以色列的長老說，主耶和華如此說：你們來是求問我嗎？主耶和華說：我指着我的永生起誓，我必不被你們求問。

他發忿恨，誰能立得住呢？他發烈怒，誰能當得起呢？他的忿怒如火傾倒；磐石因他崩裂。

他們清清楚楚地念神的律法書，講明意思，使百姓明白所念的。省長尼希米和作祭司的文士以斯拉，並教訓百姓的利未人，對眾民說：「今日是耶和華－你們神的聖日，不要悲哀哭泣。」這是因為眾民聽見律法書上的話都哭了；

我們與我們的祖宗一同犯罪；我們作了孽，行了惡。

所以凡有血氣的，沒有一個因行律法能在神面前稱義，因為律法本是叫人知罪。

我們列祖犯罪，而今不在了；我們擔當他們的罪孽。

只是你們要行道，不要單單聽道，自己欺哄自己。因為聽道而不行道的，就像人對着鏡子看自己本來的面目，看見，走後，隨即忘了他的相貌如何。惟有詳細察看那全備、使人自由之律法的，並且時常如此，這人既不是聽了就忘，乃是實在行出來，就在他所行的事上必然得福。

你們要謹慎，免得忘記耶和華－你們神與你們所立的約，為自己雕刻偶像，就是耶和華－你神所禁止你做的偶像；因為耶和華－你的神乃是烈火，是忌邪的神。「你們在那地住久了，生子生孫，就雕刻偶像，彷彿甚麼形像，敗壞自己，行耶和華－你神眼中看為惡的事，惹他發怒。我今日呼天喚地向你們作見證，你們必在過約旦河得為業的地上速速滅盡！你們不能在那地上長久，必盡行除滅。耶和華必使你們分散在萬民中；在他所領你們到的萬國裏，你們剩下的人數稀少。
