Because your heart was responsive and you humbled yourself before the Lord when you heard what I have spoken against this place and its people— that they would become a curse and be laid waste— and because you tore your robes and wept in my presence, I also have heard you, declares the Lord.

“ Your heart was tender. You made yourself humble in the eyes of the Lord. You heard what I spoke against this place and its people. I said they would be under a curse. I told them they would be destroyed. You tore your royal robes and wept in front of me. And I have heard you,” announces the Lord.

because your heart was penitent, and you humbled yourself before the Lord, when you heard how I spoke against this place and against its inhabitants, that they should become a desolation and a curse, and you have torn your clothes and wept before me, I also have heard you, declares the Lord.

爾觀亞哈卑以自牧、因此、亞哈尚存之日、我不降以禍災、迨及其子相繼、乃降災於其家。

爾所欲之祭、在乎痛悔、有此衷懷、必不見棄兮。

則我必棄此殿宇、與昔棄示羅無異、使此邑為列邦所詛。

我永生之主、至聖至高、居聖所、坐高位、凡謙卑遜順者、我與偕居、活潑其心神、暢快其意志。

見爾作惡、深堪痛疾不能復忍、故使爾土荒蕪、無人居處、為人詛咒駭異、今日之事為證。

摩西亞倫覲法老曰希百來族之上帝耶和華諭云、爾欲待何時、始自卑乎、當釋我民、以役事我。

毀爾邑垣、使聖所寂寞、不享爾馨香。爾國荒涼。如是之甚、使敵居斯土、無不駭異。

既而中心不安、

曰人所當為者、言之已彰彰矣、耶和華願爾無他、惟秉公義、矜憫為懷、退抑以事上帝。

少者當服長老、彼此相順、必以謙讓為衣服、驕泰者、上帝擯斥、卑遜者、上帝賜恩、故當自卑、服上帝大力、及時必升、

馬拿西有所祈、上帝允之、未自卑之前、所犯罪愆、所築崇坵、所奉偶像、載於何賽之書特詳。○

願我首為淵、我目為泉、淚出不止、斯民被戮、我為哭泣、無間晝夜。

爾當復入、告我之民長希西家、爾祖大闢之上帝耶和華云、我見爾祈禱出涕、將愈爾疾、越三日可詣我殿。

抑藐視其鴻慈、寛容、恆忍、不知上帝之仁愛、導爾悔改乎、乃爾剛愎、罔有悛心、積愆干怒、待上帝震怒、義鞫顯日、

彼賜我莫大之恩、故曰、驕泰者、上帝擯斥、卑遜者、上帝賜恩、故當服上帝、攻魔鬼則魔鬼離爾、親上帝、則上帝親爾、惡者盥手、疑者洗心、當自苦哀泣、勿笑宜哭、勿喜宜憂、主前宜自卑、主將升爾、

奏猶大王約雅金曰、耶和華云、卷中有言巴比倫王必至、翦滅斯國、人民野獸、不得安居、爾不悅斯言、火焚其卷、故耶和華論猶大王約雅金云、雖有後嗣、不得繼大闢之位、棄尸於外、晝暴之、夜寒之。我必罰其罪、爰及子孫、臣僕、昔予有言、欲降災於耶路撒冷居民、猶大國人、而彼弗顧、今必使災速至。昔書一卷、為猶大王約雅金所焚、耶利米復取一卷、畀繕寫尼利亞子巴錄、使書耶利米諸言、一如疇昔、更增言詞、其義畧同。

我聞之、深以為憂、坐而哭泣、數日飲食俱廢。祈禱天上上帝、

馬拿西於患難中、自怨自艾、禱列祖之上帝耶和華、耶和華允所祈、復其國祚、俾仍都於耶路撒冷、自是馬拿西知耶和華誠為上帝。

亞麼士子以賽亞遣人告希西家曰、以色列族之上帝、耶和華云、爾祈禱我、攻亞述王西拿基立、我已聞之。

既近、見城、哭、

我有大憂、痛心不已、倘吾能救兄弟骨肉之親、即絕基督、亦所願也、

王臣雖聽所誦之言、不知警、不裂衣、

摩西與以色列會眾號哭於會幕前、斯時也、有以色列人攜米田女、適其同儕所。

以士喇祈禱上帝、涕泣陳過、俯伏殿前、以色列族男女和會、爰及孩提、皆大哭。

人不守爾律例、我澘然下淚、若溪水之流兮。○

余寅畏爾、至於戰栗、爾之法度、必敬必恪兮。○

耶和華之使、以斯言告以色列族、民大聲號泣。名其地曰、普金在彼獻祭耶和華。

爾以我言播告於民、耶利米曰、斯民遭難孔艱、可為晝夜痛哭流涕也。

我耶和華手造萬物、使之咸備、凡謙卑遜順、敬畏我命者、我垂顧之。

王聞書言、裂其衣、

以色列族億兆、至於伯特利哭泣、坐於耶和華前禁食、待及薄暮、以燔祭酬恩祭獻於耶和華。

如爾志傲不聽、我於暗室、為爾傷心、見耶和華群民被虜、我目潸然出涕。

我聞之不禁裂裳衣、拔鬚髮、愕然而坐、凡凜遵以色列族上帝之道者、聞被虜而歸之眾、干犯罪戾、咸來見我、我愕然而坐、越至薄暮、獻祭之時、憂心悄悄、裂衣曲跽、向天舉手、禱我上帝耶和華、

畏耶和華命者、當聽我言、爾兄弟憾爾、緣我名而棄爾、自以此為尊敬予、我必顯現、使爾欣喜、使敵愧怍。

剛愎厥心、悖逆仁義者、必聽吾言。

硫磺及鹽、焚燬徧地、不得耕耘、無物產、無草萊、如所多馬、蛾摩拉、押馬、西編、為耶和華所怒、而使之傾覆者、

民聞書所云、咸哭、方伯尼希米、選士祭司以士喇、與訓民之利未人、告眾曰、今乃聖日、奉事爾之上帝耶和華、毋哀哭。

如其能任己愆、及前人之罪、自知差失、所行逆我、受我譴責、驅至敵國、在彼服罪、緣其不潔之心、卑以自牧、

其父後能於耶和華前革其非心、亞門不然、犯罪愈重。
