不可偏左偏右，要使你的腳遠離惡事。

因為除了赫人烏利亞那事以外，大衛都行耶和華看為正的事，一生之中從來沒有偏離耶和華所吩咐他的一切。

“他若生一個兒子，這兒子看見他父親所犯的一切罪，他雖然看見了，卻不照樣去作：他不在山上吃祭肉，眼目不仰望以色列家的偶像，不玷污鄰舍的妻子；不欺壓任何人，不索取抵押品，不搶奪人的物件，卻把自己的食物給飢餓的人，把衣服給赤身的人穿著；他不伸手欺壓困苦人，借東西給人不取利息，也不多要；他遵守我的典章，遵行我的律例，這人就必不因他父親的罪孽而滅亡；他必要存活。

耶和華和約沙法同在，因為他遵行了他祖先大衛最初所行的道路，沒有尋求巴力。

你若是聽從我吩咐你的一切，遵行我的道，行我看為正的事，謹守我的律例誡命，像我的僕人大衛所行的一樣，我就與你同在，為你建立一個鞏固的朝代，像我為大衛建立的一樣，並且我要把以色列賜給你。
