Jehoiachin king of Judah, his mother, his attendants, his nobles and his officials all surrendered to him. In the eighth year of the reign of the king of Babylon, he took Jehoiachin prisoner.

Jehoiachin, the king of Judah, handed himself over to Nebuchadnezzar. Jehoiachin’s mother did the same thing. And so did all his attendants, nobles and officials. The king of Babylon took Jehoiachin away as his prisoner. It was in the eighth year of Nebuchadnezzar’s rule.

巴比伦王尼布甲尼撒将犹大王约雅敬的儿子耶哥尼雅和犹大的首领，并工匠、铁匠从耶路撒冷掳去，带到巴比伦。这事以后，耶和华指给我看，有两筐无花果放在耶和华的殿前。

先知耶利米从耶路撒冷寄信与被掳的祭司、先知，和众民，并生存的长老，就是尼布甲尼撒从耶路撒冷掳到巴比伦去的。（这在耶哥尼雅王和太后、太监，并犹大、耶路撒冷的首领，以及工匠、铁匠都离了耶路撒冷以后。）

犹大王约西亚的儿子约雅敬第四年，就是巴比伦王尼布甲尼撒的元年，耶和华论犹大众民的话临到耶利米。

“你对那悖逆之家说：你们不知道这些事是什么意思吗？你要告诉他们说，巴比伦王曾到耶路撒冷，将其中的君王和首领带到巴比伦自己那里去。

耶利米对西底家说：“耶和华万军之神、以色列的神如此说：你若出去归降巴比伦王的首领，你的命就必存活，这城也不致被火焚烧，你和你的全家都必存活。你若不出去归降巴比伦王的首领，这城必交在迦勒底人手中。他们必用火焚烧，你也不得脱离他们的手。”

犹大王约雅斤被掳后三十七年，巴比伦王以未米罗达元年十二月二十五日，使犹大王约雅斤抬头，提他出监，

耶和华说：“犹大王约雅敬的儿子哥尼雅虽是我右手上带印的戒指，我凭我的永生起誓，也必将你从其上摘下来，并且我必将你交给寻索你命的人和你所惧怕的人手中，就是巴比伦王尼布甲尼撒和迦勒底人的手中。我也必将你和生你的母亲赶到别国，并不是你们生的地方；你们必死在那里，但心中甚想归回之地，必不得归回。”哥尼雅这人是被轻看、破坏的器皿吗？是无人喜爱的器皿吗？他和他的后裔为何被赶到不认识之地呢？地啊，地啊，地啊，当听耶和华的话！耶和华如此说：“要写明这人算为无子，是平生不得亨通的；因为他后裔中再无一人得亨通，能坐在大卫的宝座上治理犹大。”
