Jehoiachin king of Judah, his mother, his attendants, his nobles and his officials all surrendered to him. In the eighth year of the reign of the king of Babylon, he took Jehoiachin prisoner.

Jehoiachin, the king of Judah, handed himself over to Nebuchadnezzar. Jehoiachin’s mother did the same thing. And so did all his attendants, nobles and officials. The king of Babylon took Jehoiachin away as his prisoner. It was in the eighth year of Nebuchadnezzar’s rule.

Then King Jehoiachin, along with the queen mother, his advisers, his commanders, and his officials, surrendered to the Babylonians. In the eighth year of Nebuchadnezzar’s reign, he took Jehoiachin prisoner.

巴比倫王尼布甲尼撒使猶大王約雅敬的兒子耶哥尼雅和猶大的首領跟匠人、鐵匠、從耶路撒冷流亡去，給帶到巴比倫：這事以後，永恆主給我看個異象：看哪，有兩筐無花果，放在永恆主的殿堂前。

以下是尼布甲尼撒使人民流亡的數目：在他的第七年有猶大人三千零二十三名；

到了年頭、尼布甲尼撒差遣了人將約雅斤帶到巴比倫，連同永恆主殿裏珍寶的器皿都帶去；他就立約雅斤的叔叔西底家作王來管理猶大和耶路撒冷。

猶大王約雅斤開始流亡後三十七年、巴比倫王以未米羅達登極執掌國政那一年、十二月二十七日、他使猶大王約雅斤抬起頭來，出了監獄；

以下是一封信的話，就是神言人耶利米從耶路撒冷寄給流亡者生存的長老，以及祭司、神言人和眾民，是尼布甲尼撒使他們從耶路撒冷流亡到巴比倫去的。（這是在耶哥尼雅王、和太后、太監，跟猶大耶路撒冷的首領、以及工匠鐵匠都從耶路撒冷出降了以後。）

猶大王約西亞的兒子約雅敬四年，就是巴比倫王尼布甲尼撒元年，有論到猶大眾民的話傳與耶利米；

『你要對叛逆之家說：你們不知道這些事是甚麼意思麼？你要告訴他們說：看哪，巴比倫王曾經來到耶路撒冷，將其中的王和首領帶到巴比倫自己那裏。

耶利米對西底家說：『永恆主萬軍之上帝以色列之上帝這麼說：你若毅然出去歸降巴比倫王的首領，你的性命就得以活着，這城也不至於被火焚燒，你和你的家就得以活着。但你若不出去歸降巴比倫王的首領，這城就必交在迦勒底人手中；他們必放火燒城，你自己也不能逃脫他們的手。』

猶大王約雅斤開始流亡後三十七年、巴比倫王以未米羅達登極執掌國政那一年、十二月二十五日、他使猶大王約雅斤抬起頭來，提他出了監獄；

『我指着永活的我來起誓，永恆主發神諭說，猶大王約雅敬的兒子哥尼雅雖是我右手上的印章，我還要將你摘下來，交於那些尋索你性命的人的手，和你所懼怕的人手中，交於巴比倫王尼布甲尼撒的手，和迦勒底人手中。我必將你和生你的母親拋擲出去、到別國之地，你們不是生在那裏，卻必死在那裏。但他們心裏所仰慕要回去之地、他們卻不得回去。』哥尼雅這個人是被鄙視、被摔碎的陶瓦小像、無人喜悅的器皿麼？為甚麼他被拋擲，他和他的後裔都被丟到素不認識之地呢？地啊，地啊，地啊，聽永恆主的話哦！永恆主這麼說：『要把這個人登記為無子嗣位的，是儘他一生日子都不亨通順利的，因為他後裔中無一人亨通順利能坐大衛寶座，或再統治猶大的。』
