The enemies of Jerusalem and Judah attacked them because the Lord was angry. In the end the Lord threw them out of his land. Zedekiah also refused to remain under the control of Nebuchadnezzar.

For because of the anger of the Lord it came to the point in Jerusalem and Judah that he cast them out from his presence. And Zedekiah rebelled against the king of Babylon.

These things happened because of the Lord’s anger against the people of Jerusalem and Judah, until he finally banished them from his presence and sent them into exile. Zedekiah rebelled against the king of Babylon.

我照耶和华的吩咐对犹大王西底迦说：“你们要负巴比伦王的轭，臣服于他和他的人民，这样你们就可存活。你和你的人民何必死于战争、饥荒和瘟疫呢？耶和华要降这些灾难给不肯臣服于巴比伦王的国家。不要听信那些先知骗人的预言，他们说巴比伦王不会征服你们。耶和华并没有派他们，他们却奉祂的名说假预言。如果你们听信他们的话，耶和华必把你们和假先知赶走，使你们一同灭亡。”

他来要按照撒旦的伎俩行各样虚假的异能、神迹和奇事，用尽各样诡计欺骗那些将要灭亡的人，因为他们不喜欢接受那能拯救他们的真理。上帝就让他们是非不辨，去相信那些虚假的谎言，

希实本王西宏却拒绝我们的请求，因为我们的上帝耶和华使他顽固不化，好让我们击败他，正如今日的情形。

后来，犹大王背叛了巴比伦王，派使者到埃及请求支援军队马匹。他能成功吗？他这样做怎能逃脱惩罚呢？他这样背约怎能逃脱惩罚呢？“我凭我的永恒起誓，巴比伦王立他做王，他却弃约背誓，他必死在巴比伦。敌人筑起围攻的土垒和高台大肆杀戮的时候，法老虽然兵强马壮，人多势众，仍无法帮他抗敌。他起誓降服，却弃约背誓，所以绝不能逃避后果。因此，主耶和华说，‘我凭我的永恒起誓，他既藐视与我所立的誓言，背弃与我所定的约，我必惩罚他。我要撒开网罗抓住他，把他带到巴比伦，审判他对我不忠的罪。

耶利米说：“以色列的上帝——万军之上帝耶和华说，‘如果你出去向巴比伦王的将领投降，就可以保住你和你全家的性命，这城也不会被烧毁。但如果你不出去向巴比伦王的将领投降，这城必落在迦勒底人手里，被付之一炬，你也逃不掉。’”西底迦王说：“我害怕那些已经向迦勒底人投降的犹大人，恐怕迦勒底人会把我交给他们，任由他们羞辱。”耶利米说：“不会的。只要你听从耶和华吩咐我对你说的话，你就可以平安无事，保全性命。耶和华已指示我，如果你不肯投降，

因为他们背弃我，给别的神明烧香，制造偶像惹我发怒，我的怒火要在这地方燃烧，绝不止息。

埃及王聪明的谋士——琐安的首领们变得愚不可及。他们怎敢在埃及王面前自称是古圣先贤的子孙呢？埃及王啊，你的智者在哪里呢？让他们把万军之耶和华对付埃及的计划告诉你吧！琐安的首领愚昧，挪弗的首领糊涂。他们是埃及的房角石，却把埃及人引入歧途。耶和华使错谬的灵进入他们当中，使他们像又呕又吐、东倒西歪的醉汉，做什么都错误百出。

因此，耶和华向这片土地发怒，把这书上的一切咒诅都降在这里。

这一次，我要降下大灾祸在你及你的臣仆和百姓身上，好叫你知道普天之下我独一无二。我若用瘟疫攻击你和你的百姓，你们早就灭亡了。我让你活到现在，是为了向你彰显我的权能，使我的名传遍天下。但你竟然在我的子民面前狂傲自大，不让他们离开。

这个世代所谓的智者、学者、雄辩家在哪里？上帝岂不是把这世上的智慧都变成愚昧了吗？
