But Jehoshaphat asked,“ Is there no prophet of the Lord here, through whom we may inquire of the Lord?” An officer of the king of Israel answered,“ Elisha son of Shaphat is here. He used to pour water on the hands of Elijah.”

But Jehoshaphat asked,“ Isn’t there a prophet of the Lord here? Can’t we ask the Lord for advice through him?” An officer of the king of Israel answered,“ Elisha is here. He’s the son of Shaphat. Elisha used to serve Elijah.”

And Jehoshaphat said,“ Is there no prophet of the Lord here, through whom we may inquire of the Lord?” Then one of the king of Israel’s servants answered,“ Elisha the son of Shaphat is here, who poured water on the hands of Elijah.”

But King Jehoshaphat of Judah asked,“ Is there no prophet of the Lord with us? If there is, we can ask the Lord what to do through him.” One of King Joram’s officers replied,“ Elisha son of Shaphat is here. He used to be Elijah’s personal assistant.”

But Jehoshaphat said,“ Isn’t there a prophet of the LORD here? Let’s inquire of the LORD through him.” One of the servants of the king of Israel answered,“ Elisha son of Shaphat, who used to pour water on Elijah’s hands, is here.”

But Jehoshaphat said,“ Is there no prophet of the Lord here, that we may inquire of the Lord by him?” And one of the king of Israel’s servants answered and said,“ Elisha the son of Shaphat is here, who used to pour water on the hands of Elijah.”

But Jehoshaphat said,“ Is there no prophet of the Lord here, that we may inquire of the Lord by him?” So one of the servants of the king of Israel answered and said,“ Elisha the son of Shaphat is here, who poured water on the hands of Elijah.”

But Jehoshaphat said, Is there not here a prophet of Jehovah, that we may inquire of Jehovah by him? And one of the king of Israel’s servants answered and said, Elisha the son of Shaphat is here, who poured water on the hands of Elijah.

But Jehoshaphat said,“ Isn’t there a prophet of the Lord here? Let’s inquire of Yahweh through him.” One of the servants of the king of Israel answered,“ Elisha son of Shaphat, who used to pour water on Elijah’s hands, is here.”

But Jehoshaphat said,[ Is there] not here a prophet of the LORD, that we may enquire of the LORD by him? And one of the king of Israel’s servants answered and said, Here[ is] Elisha the son of Shaphat, which poured water on the hands of Elijah.

Jehoshaphat asked,“ Is there no prophet of the LORD here that we might seek the LORD’s direction?” One of the servants of the king of Israel answered,“ Elisha son of Shapat is here; he used to be Elijah’s servant.”

But Jehoshaphat said,“ Isn’t there a prophet of Yahweh here, that we may inquire of Yahweh by him?” One of the king of Israel’s servants answered,“ Elisha the son of Shaphat, who poured water on the hands of Elijah, is here.”

約沙法說：“這裡不是還有耶和華的先知，我們可以求問他嗎？”

以利沙就離開他回去了。他牽了一對牛來宰了，用套牛的器具把牛煮熟，就分給眾人，他們都吃了。然後以利沙就起來，跟隨以利亞，服事他。

你們稱呼我‘老師，主’，你們說得對，我本來就是。我是主，是老師，尚且洗你們的腳，你們也應當彼此洗腳。

就起身離席，脫去外衣，拿一條手巾束腰。然後他倒了一盆水，洗門徒的腳，並且用束腰的手巾擦乾。

先前沒有你們，耶和華我們的神就擊打我們，因為我們沒有按照定例尋求他。”

並且要有善行的見證：就如養育兒女，接待客旅，替聖徒洗腳，救濟困苦的人，盡力行各樣的善事等。

掃羅死了，因為他悖逆耶和華，沒有聽從他的話，也因為他去求問那交鬼的，

耶和華的僕人摩西死了以後，耶和華吩咐摩西的侍從，嫩的兒子約書亞，說：

以色列眾人，就是全體人民，又上到伯特利，坐在耶和華面前哀哭，那日禁食直到晚上，然後在耶和華面前獻上燔祭和平安祭。那時，神的約櫃在那裡。那時，亞倫的孫子、以利亞撒的兒子非尼哈，侍立在約櫃前供職。以色列人求問耶和華，說：“我們應再出去與我們的兄弟便雅憫人交戰呢？還是休戰呢？”耶和華說：“你們應上去，因為明天我必把他們交在你們手中。”

不過，你們知道提摩太已證明了他的為人，他和我一同為了福音服事主，就像兒子跟父親一樣。

於是眾人都起來如同一人，說：“我們當中誰都不回自己的帳棚，誰都不回自己的家。現在我們要這樣對待基比亞人：我們要照著所抽的籤上去攻打他們。我們要從以色列各支派中，每百人抽取十人，每千人抽取百人，每萬人抽取千人，好為人民運送糧食；等他們到了便雅憫的基比亞的時候，就可以照著他們在以色列中所行的一切羞恥的事懲罰他們。”於是以色列眾人彼此聯合，如同一人，聚集起來攻擊那城。

以色列人取了他們一些食物，卻沒有求問耶和華的旨意。

只是尼八的兒子耶羅波安使以色列人陷在罪中的那些罪，他卻堅持不捨，不肯脫離。

以利沙從那裡上迦密山，又從迦密山回到撒瑪利亞。猶大王約沙法第十八年，亞哈的兒子約蘭在撒瑪利亞作王，統治以色列；他作王共有十二年。

以色列人就起來，上伯特利去求問神，說：“我們之中誰應首先上去，與便雅憫人交戰呢？”耶和華說：“猶大應首先上去。”

如果主耶和華不先把計劃向他的僕人眾先知顯示，他就不會作任何事。

但你們卻不要這樣；你們中間最大的，應當像最小的；作首領的，應當像服事人的。哪一個大呢？是坐著吃喝的還是服事人的呢？不是坐著吃喝的嗎？然而我在你們中間，如同服事人的。

大衛求問神說：“我可以上去攻打非利士人嗎？你把他們交在我手裡嗎？”耶和華對他說：“你可以上去，我必把他們交在你的手裡。”

讓我叫人拿點水來，你們可以洗洗腳，然後在樹下歇一歇。

我們看不見我們的記號，也不再有先知；我們中間也沒有人知道這災禍要到幾時。

大衛又求問神，神對他說：“不可在後面追趕他們，要繞過他們，從桑林對面攻打他們。

事前，以色列人上伯特利去，在耶和華面前哀哭直到晚上，然後求問耶和華，說：“我們再去與我們的兄弟便雅憫人交戰，可以不可以？”耶和華說：“你們可以上去攻打他們。”
