則我自亞捫族安然而歸時、出我門而迓者、必歸於耶和華、我必獻之為燔祭、

耶和華曰、摩押干罪、至三至四、我不挽回厥罰、以其焚以東王之骨為灰也、

獻其子女、以祭鬼神兮、流無辜之血、即其子女之血、以祭迦南偶像、其地為血所污兮、

掃羅曰、我儕夤夜追襲非利士人、掠其所有、以至黎明、不留其一人、僉曰、爾視為善者行之、祭司曰、當詣上帝、掃羅諮諏上帝曰、我追襲非利士人可否、爾付之於以色列人手乎、是日上帝不之應、掃羅曰、爾民長俱前來、察知今日之罪何在、我指救以色列、維生之耶和華而誓、雖我子約拿單、亦必死亡、民中無人應之、乃謂以色列眾曰、爾曹在彼、我與我子約拿單在此、民曰、爾視為善者行之、掃羅告以色列之上帝耶和華曰、願爾指示其實、乃掣籤、得掃羅及約拿單、民得免焉、掃羅曰、於我及我子約拿單間掣籤、乃得約拿單、掃羅謂約拿單曰、爾以所為告我、約拿單曰、我誠以所執之杖端、嘗蜜少許、我必死也、掃羅曰、約拿單、爾必死、不然、願上帝罰我維倍、民謂掃羅曰、約拿單大行拯救於以色列中、豈可死乎、斷乎不可、我儕指維生之耶和華以誓、其首之一髮、不隕於地、蓋彼今日與上帝偕行、於是民援約拿單、免於死亡、掃羅去非利士人、不追襲之、非利士人歸故土、○

二月既盈、女歸父所、父循所許之願、以待其女、乃不字而終、

有先知進見以色列王亞哈曰、耶和華云、此羣眾、爾見之乎、今日我必付於爾手、爾則知我乃耶和華、

亞伯拉罕舉目以觀、見有牡綿羊在後、角繫林叢、遂往取之、獻為燔祭、以代其子、

有上帝僕進見以色列王曰、耶和華云、亞蘭人謂耶和華乃山嶽之神、非平原之神、故我必以此羣眾付於爾手、爾則知我乃耶和華、
