淫妇用许多花言巧语引诱他，用谄媚的嘴唇勾引他。

非利士人聚集起来，来到书念安营；扫罗也聚集以色列众人，在基利波安营。

孩子渐渐长大。有一天，他出来到收割的人中找他的父亲。

那老年人说：“愿你平安，你所缺乏的，由我负责好了；只是不可在广场上过夜。”

年纪大的不都有智慧，年老的不都能明白是非，

有一天，以利沙来到那里，就上小阁休息，在那里躺下。他对他的仆人基哈西说：“你去叫这书念的妇人来。”于是他叫了她来，站在他的面前。

但由于罗得再三的请求，他们才肯跟他回去，进了他的家。罗得为他们预备了筵席，烤了无酵饼，他们就吃了。

她和她一家受了洗以后，就请求说：“你们若认为我是对主忠实的，就请到我家来住。”于是她强留我们。
