大馬色之河、亞罷拿與法珥法、較以色列諸水、豈不尤佳乎、我不可浴於彼、而得潔乎、遂忿然反身而去、

大馬色之河、亞巴拿與法法、較之以色列地之水、豈非尤善、濯身於彼、豈不能成潔乎。遂怒欲歸。

原來約但河水在收割的日子總是漲滿河岸的。當下抬櫃的人來到約但河；抬櫃的祭司的腳一蘸在水邊，那從上邊往下流的水便從極遠之處、在亞當、在撒拉但旁邊的城那裏站住，立成了一壘，而那向亞拉巴海、就是鹽海、往下流的水便全然截斷；於是人民就在耶利哥對面過去了。抬永恆主約櫃的祭司在約但河中間的乾地上直站着，等以色列眾人都在乾地上過去，直到全國的人盡都過了約但河為止。

乃縵這才說：『不然，就請將兩騾馱子的土賜給僕人；從今以後、僕人就不再將燔祭、或平安祭獻與別的神了，只獻與永恆主。

就把以利亞身上掉下來的外衣擊打河水，說：『永恆主以利亞的上帝現在在哪裏呢？』便擊打了河水；水左右分開，以利沙就過來。

當那些日子、耶穌從加利利的拿撒勒來，在約但河裏受約翰的洗。

『當那日必有個泉源給大衛家和耶路撒冷的居民開出來、以洗滌罪惡與污穢。

發怒暴躁的、行事愚妄；有謀算的能夠忍耐。

他帶了我回到殿門；看哪，有水從殿的門限下往東流出呢；殿的正面原是朝東的；這水從殿的右邊、祭壇的南邊往下流。他領了我取道北門而出，又帶了我取道外邊轉到朝東的外門；只見有水從南邊流出。那人手裏拿着準繩、往東而出，就量了一千肘，叫我逿過水，是到腳脖子的水。他又量了一千肘，叫我逿過水，是到膝蓋的水。再量了一千肘，叫我逿過去，是到腰間的水。他又量了一千肘，是我逿不過去的溪河了；因為水已漲起，成了可洑的水，逿不過去的溪河了。他對我說：『人子啊，你看見了麼？』他就沿溪河邊領我返回。我返回的時候，只見河這邊跟那邊有極多樹木。他對我說：『這些水向東方一帶地區流出，必下到亞拉巴，來到鹽海；所發出的水既流入鹽海，那水就得治好而無鹹味了。

人的明智能使他不輕易發怒；不追究人的過失、乃自己的光榮。

當那日必有活水從耶路撒冷出來：其一半向着東海而流，其一半向着西海而流：夏天冬天都有水。

以利亞將自己的外衣捲起來，擊打河水，水就左右分開，二人便從乾地上走過去。
