他的僕人走近前來對他說道：『我父啊，神言人若吩咐你一件大事，你難道不作麼？何況他只對你說：「你去洗澡，而得潔淨」呢？』

其僕進而謂之曰、我父歟、先知若命爾行一大事、爾豈不行之、況僅言沐浴而得潔乎、

其從者至前、告曰、我主歟、如先知以難成之事使爾、爾豈有所不為、況彼第言、濯身而成潔乎。

其僕至前告曰、我父歟、如先知以難成之事命爾、爾亦當為之、況第言浴身而成潔乎、

Naaman’s servants went to him and said,“ My father, if the prophet had told you to do some great thing, would you not have done it? How much more, then, when he tells you,‘ Wash and be cleansed’!”

Naaman’s servants went over to him. They said,“ You are like a father to us. What if Elisha the prophet had told you to do some great thing? Wouldn’t you have done it? But he only said,‘ Wash yourself. Then you will be pure and“ clean.” ’ You should be even more willing to do that!”

But his servants came near and said to him,“ My father, it is a great word the prophet has spoken to you; will you not do it? Has he actually said to you,‘ Wash, and be clean’?”

But his officers tried to reason with him and said,“ Sir, if the prophet had told you to do something very difficult, wouldn’t you have done it? So you should certainly obey him when he says simply,‘ Go and wash and be cured!’”

But his servants approached and said to him,“ My father, if the prophet had told you to do some great thing, would you not have done it? How much more should you do it when he only tells you,‘ Wash and be clean’?”

Then his servants approached and spoke to him, saying,“ My father, had the prophet told you to do some great thing, would you not have done it? How much more then, when he says to you,‘ Wash, and be clean’?”

And his servants came near and spoke to him, and said,“ My father, if the prophet had told you to do something great, would you not have done it? How much more then, when he says to you,‘ Wash, and be clean’?”

And his servants came near, and spake unto him, and said, My father, if the prophet had bid thee do some great thing, wouldest thou not have done it? how much rather then, when he saith to thee, Wash, and be clean?

And his servants came near, and spake unto him, and said, My father,[ if] the prophet had bid thee[ do some] great thing, wouldest thou not have done[ it]? how much rather then, when he saith to thee, Wash, and be clean?

His servants approached and said to him,“ O master, if the prophet had told you to do some difficult task, you would have been willing to do it. It seems you should be happy that he simply said,“ Wash and you will be healed.”

His servants came near, and spoke to him, and said,“ My father, if the prophet had asked you do some great thing, wouldn’t you have done it? How much rather then, when he says to you,‘ Wash, and be clean?’”

When the king of Israel saw them, he asked Elisha,“ Shall I kill them, my father? Shall I kill them?” (niv)

Elisha saw this and cried out,“ My father! My father! The chariots and horsemen of Israel!” And Elisha saw him no more. Then he took hold of his garment and tore it in two. (niv)

Now Elisha had been suffering from the illness from which he died. Jehoash king of Israel went down to see him and wept over him.“ My father! My father!” he cried.“ The chariots and horsemen of Israel!” (niv)

But Ebed-Melek, a Cushite, an official in the royal palace, heard that they had put Jeremiah into the cistern. While the king was sitting in the Benjamin Gate,Ebed-Melek went out of the palace and said to him,“ My lord the king, these men have acted wickedly in all they have done to Jeremiah the prophet. They have thrown him into a cistern, where he will starve to death when there is no longer any bread in the city.”Then the king commanded Ebed-Melek the Cushite,“ Take thirty men from here with you and lift Jeremiah the prophet out of the cistern before he dies.” (niv)

But it is the spirit in a person, the breath of the Almighty, that gives them understanding.It is not only the old who are wise, not only the aged who understand what is right. (niv)

I answered,“ Sir, you know.” And he said,“ These are they who have come out of the great tribulation; they have washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb. (niv)

to make her holy, cleansing her by the washing with water through the word,and to present her to himself as a radiant church, without stain or wrinkle or any other blemish, but holy and blameless. (niv)

Elisha sent a messenger to say to him,“ Go, wash yourself seven times in the Jordan, and your flesh will be restored and you will be cleansed.” (niv)

One of the servants told Abigail, Nabal’s wife,“ David sent messengers from the wilderness to give our master his greetings, but he hurled insults at them.Yet these men were very good to us. They did not mistreat us, and the whole time we were out in the fields near them nothing was missing.Night and day they were a wall around us the whole time we were herding our sheep near them.Now think it over and see what you can do, because disaster is hanging over our master and his whole household. He is such a wicked man that no one can talk to him.” (niv)

he saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit, (niv)

and this water symbolizes baptism that now saves you also— not the removal of dirt from the body but the pledge of a clear conscience toward God. It saves you by the resurrection of Jesus Christ, (niv)
