But Elisha asked him,“ Don’t you realize that I was there in spirit when Naaman stepped down from his chariot to meet you? Is this the time to receive money and clothing, olive groves and vineyards, sheep and cattle, and male and female servants?

以利沙对他说：“那人下车转回迎你的时候，我的心岂没有去呢？这岂是受银子、衣裳、买橄榄园、葡萄园、牛羊、仆婢的时候呢？

以利沙对他说：“那人下车转过来迎着你的时候，我的心岂没有去呢？这岂是接受银子，接受衣裳、橄榄园、葡萄园、牛羊、仆婢的时候呢？

以利沙对他说：“那人下车转过来迎着你的时候，我的心岂没有去呢？这岂是接受银子，接受衣裳、橄榄园、葡萄园、牛羊、仆婢的时候呢？

以利沙对他说：“那人下车回头迎接你的时候，我的心不也在那里吗？现在岂是接受人家银子、衣服、橄榄园、葡萄园、牛羊和仆婢的时候？

以利沙对他说：“那人下车转身迎着你的时候，我的心不是和你同去吗？现在不是收受银子、衣服、橄榄园、葡萄园、羊、牛、仆人和婢女的时候。

以利沙對他說：「那人下車轉回迎你的時候，我的心豈沒有去呢？這豈是受銀子、衣裳、買橄欖園、葡萄園、牛羊、僕婢的時候呢？

以利沙對他說：「那人下車轉過來迎着你的時候，我的心豈沒有去呢？這豈是接受銀子，接受衣裳、橄欖園、葡萄園、牛羊、僕婢的時候呢？

以利沙對他說：「那人下車回頭迎接你的時候，我的心不也在那裡嗎？現在豈是接受人家銀子、衣服、橄欖園、葡萄園、牛羊和僕婢的時候？

以利沙對他說：“那人下車轉身迎著你的時候，我的心不是和你同去嗎？現在不是收受銀子、衣服、橄欖園、葡萄園、羊、牛、僕人和婢女的時候。

以利沙對他說：『那人下車轉身來迎着你的時候，我的心不是和你一同去麼？這時候哪裏是接受銀子、接受衣服、橄欖園、葡萄園、羊、牛、奴僕、婢女、的時候呢？

曰、其人下車、轉而迓爾時、我心豈不偕往乎、是時豈可受銀與衣、以購橄欖園、葡萄園、牛羊僕婢乎、

曰彼下車迓爾之時、我心非與爾同在乎。此時豈可受人所饋、或金、或衣、以售橄欖圃、葡萄園、牛羊僕婢乎。

曰、彼下車轉而迎爾時、我心豈不偕爾往乎、此時豈可受銀與衣、以購油果園、葡萄園、牛、羊、僕婢乎、

But Elisha said to him,“ Was not my spirit with you when the man got down from his chariot to meet you? Is this the time to take money or to accept clothes— or olive groves and vineyards, or flocks and herds, or male and female slaves?

But Elisha said to him,“ Didn’t my spirit go with you? I know that the man got down from his chariot to greet you. Is this the time for you to accept money or clothes? Is it the time to take olive groves, vineyards, flocks or herds? Is it the time to accept male and female slaves?

But he said to him,“ Did not my heart go when the man turned from his chariot to meet you? Was it a time to accept money and garments, olive orchards and vineyards, sheep and oxen, male servants and female servants?

“ And my heart didn’t go when the man got down from his chariot to meet you,” Elisha said.“ Is this a time to accept silver and clothing, olive orchards and vineyards, flocks and herds, and male and female slaves?

Then he said to him,“ Did my heart not go with you, when the man turned from his chariot to meet you? Is it a time to accept money and to accept clothes, olive groves, vineyards, sheep, oxen, and male and female slaves?

Then he said to him,“ Did not my heart go with you when the man turned back from his chariot to meet you? Is it time to receive money and to receive clothing, olive groves and vineyards, sheep and oxen, male and female servants?

And he said unto him, Went not my heart with thee, when the man turned from his chariot to meet thee? Is it a time to receive money, and to receive garments, and oliveyards and vineyards, and sheep and oxen, and men- servants and maid- servants?

But Elisha questioned him,“ Wasn’t my spirit there when the man got down from his chariot to meet you? Is it a time to accept money and clothes, olive orchards and vineyards, sheep and oxen, and male and female slaves?

And he said unto him, Went not mine heart[ with thee], when the man turned again from his chariot to meet thee?[ Is it] a time to receive money, and to receive garments, and oliveyards, and vineyards, and sheep, and oxen, and menservants, and maidservants?

Elisha replied,“ I was there in spirit when a man turned and got down from his chariot to meet you. This is not the proper time to accept silver or to accept clothes, olive groves, vineyards, sheep, cattle, and male and female servants.

He said to him,“ Didn’t my heart go with you, when the man turned from his chariot to meet you? Is it a time to receive money, and to receive garments, and olive groves and vineyards, and sheep and cattle, and male servants and female servants?

For though I am far away from you, my heart is with you. And I rejoice that you are living as you should and that your faith in Christ is strong.

Even though I am not with you in person, I am with you in the Spirit. And as though I were there, I have already passed judgment on this man

Since we have planted spiritual seed among you, aren’t we entitled to a harvest of physical food and drink?If you support others who preach to you, shouldn’t we have an even greater right to be supported? But we have never used this right. We would rather put up with anything than be an obstacle to the Good News about Christ.

The Lord detests lying lips, but he delights in those who tell the truth.

And I have been a constant example of how you can help those in need by working hard. You should remember the words of the Lord Jesus:‘ It is more blessed to give than to receive.’”

Truthful words stand the test of time, but lies are soon exposed.

But the king will rejoice in God. All who swear to tell the truth will praise him, while liars will be silenced.

that I will not take so much as a single thread or sandal thong from what belongs to you. Otherwise you might say,‘ I am the one who made Abram rich.’

Heal the sick, raise the dead, cure those with leprosy, and cast out demons. Give as freely as you have received!

But Elisha replied,“ As surely as the Lord lives, whom I serve, I will not accept any gifts.” And though Naaman urged him to take the gift, Elisha refused.

For everything there is a season, a time for every activity under heaven.A time to be born and a time to die. A time to plant and a time to harvest.A time to kill and a time to heal. A time to tear down and a time to build up.A time to cry and a time to laugh. A time to grieve and a time to dance.A time to scatter stones and a time to gather stones. A time to embrace and a time to turn away.A time to search and a time to quit searching. A time to keep and a time to throw away.A time to tear and a time to mend. A time to be quiet and a time to speak.A time to love and a time to hate. A time for war and a time for peace.

“ It’s not us, my lord the king,” one of the officers replied.“ Elisha, the prophet in Israel, tells the king of Israel even the words you speak in the privacy of your bedroom!”

I“ robbed” other churches by accepting their contributions so I could serve you at no cost.And when I was with you and didn’t have enough to live on, I did not become a financial burden to anyone. For the brothers who came from Macedonia brought me all that I needed. I have never been a burden to you, and I never will be.As surely as the truth of Christ is in me, no one in all of Greece will ever stop me from boasting about this.Why? Because I don’t love you? God knows that I do.But I will continue doing what I have always done. This will undercut those who are looking for an opportunity to boast that their work is just like ours.

“ I have never coveted anyone’s silver or gold or fine clothes.

And Peter said,“ How could the two of you even think of conspiring to test the Spirit of the Lord like this? The young men who buried your husband are just outside the door, and they will carry you out, too.”

We never accepted food from anyone without paying for it. We worked hard day and night so we would not be a burden to any of you.We certainly had the right to ask you to feed us, but we wanted to give you an example to follow.
