The prophet asked,“ Where did it drop in?” When he showed him the spot, Elisha cut off a branch, threw it in at that spot, and made the ax head float.

The man of God asked,“ Where did it fall?” When he showed him the place, Elisha cut a stick and threw it there, and made the iron float.

The man of God asked,“ Where did the blade fall?” He showed Elisha the place. Then Elisha cut a stick and threw it there. That made the iron blade float.

Then the man of God said,“ Where did it fall?” When he showed him the place, he cut off a stick and threw it in there and made the iron float.

“ Where did it fall?” the man of God asked. When he showed him the place, Elisha cut a stick and threw it into the water at that spot. Then the ax head floated to the surface.

Then the man of God asked,“ Where did it fall?” When he showed him the place, the man of God cut a piece of wood, threw it there, and made the iron float.

Then the man of God said,“ Where did it fall?” And when he showed him the place, he cut off a stick and threw it in there, and made the iron float.

He went out to the spring and threw the salt in. Then he said,“ This is what the LORD says,‘ I have purified this water. It will no longer cause death or fail to produce crops.”

He cried out to the LORD, and the LORD showed him a tree. When Moses threw it into the water, the water became safe to drink. There the Lord made for them a binding ordinance, and there he tested them.

He said,“ Get some flour.” Then he threw it into the pot and said,“ Now pour some out for the men so they may eat.” There was no longer anything harmful in the pot.

Having said this, he spat on the ground and made some mud with the saliva. He smeared the mud on the blind man’s eyesand said to him,“ Go wash in the pool of Siloam”( which is translated“ sent”). So the blind man went away and washed, and came back seeing.

He took the blind man by the hand and brought him outside of the village. Then he spit on his eyes, placed his hands on his eyes and asked,“ Do you see anything?”Regaining his sight he said,“ I see people, but they look like trees walking.”Then Jesus placed his hands on the man’s eyes again. And he opened his eyes, his sight was restored, and he saw everything clearly.

After Jesus took him aside privately, away from the crowd, he put his fingers in the man’s ears, and after spitting, he touched his tongue.Then he looked up to heaven and said with a sigh,“ Ephphatha”( that is,“ Be opened”).
