“你吩咐以色列人把所有患麻风病、漏症和因碰过死尸而不洁净的人，无论男女，都送到营外，免得他们玷污了营地，因为我住在其中。”以色列人就照耶和华对摩西的吩咐，把这些人送到营外。

耶和华对摩西说：“如果她父亲在她脸上吐唾沫，她岂不也要蒙羞七天吗？现在把她关在营外，七天后再让她回来。”

他们说：“我们为什么还坐在这里？大家一起进入坚城，死在那里吧！我们的上帝耶和华要毁灭我们，给我们毒药喝，因为我们得罪了祂。

那时，王正与上帝仆人的侍者基哈西谈话，让基哈西把以利沙所做的一切大事讲给他听。

“患麻风病的人必须撕裂衣服，披头散发，遮住脸的下半部，高喊‘不洁净！不洁净！’只要病不痊愈，他就不洁净，要独自住在营外。

如果我们进城，城里正闹饥荒，我们会饿死；但我们坐在这里也是死，不如去投靠亚兰军。如果他们不杀我们，我们就能活命；如若不然，死就死吧！”

乃缦是亚兰王的元帅，甚得亚兰王器重，因为耶和华借他使亚兰人打了许多胜仗。他是英勇的战士，只是患了麻风病。

你和你的人民何必死于战争、饥荒和瘟疫呢？耶和华要降这些灾难给不肯臣服于巴比伦王的国家。
