永恆主對他說：『你回去，取道曠野往大馬色去；到了那裏，你要膏立哈薛做王去管理亞蘭；

雅比人沙龍陰謀反叛了他，在以伯蓮擊打他，弒死他，接替他作王。撒迦利雅其餘的事、都寫在《以色列諸王記》上呢。這是永恆主的話、他對耶戶所說過的說：『你的子孫四代必坐以色列的王位』：果然如此。猶大王烏西雅三十九年、雅比人沙龍登極作王；他在撒瑪利亞作王有一個月工夫。迦底的兒子米拿現從得撒上去、到了撒瑪利亞，在撒瑪利亞攻擊雅比人沙龍，將他殺死，接替他作王。

心利進去擊殺了他，將他殺死，接替他作王；這是在猶大王亞撒二十七年的事。

跟隨大衛人的對大衛說：『永恆主曾對你說過：「看吧，我必將你的仇敵交在你手裏；你可以任意處置他」；看哪，今天就是那日子了。』大衛就起來，輕悄悄地割下掃羅外袍的衣邊。隨後大衛心中自己責備自己割下掃羅的衣邊；就對跟隨的人說：『他既是永恆主所膏立的，我絕對不對我主上、不對永恆主所膏立的行這事，來伸手攻擊他。』說了這話，大衛才勸阻跟隨的人，不讓他們起來害掃羅。掃羅起來，出了洞，走他的路去了。

洗利達的以法蓮人、尼八的兒子耶羅波安、是所羅門的臣僕，他也舉起手來攻擊王；他母親名叫洗魯阿，是個寡婦。他舉起手來攻擊王的緣故是這樣的：所羅門重建了米羅，填補了他父親大衛城的破口。耶羅波安這個人是個有才能的人；所羅門見這青年人很能作事，就派他去監管約瑟家一切背負重擔的工作。有一次、耶羅波安從耶路撒冷出來，示羅人亞希雅神言人在路上遇見了他；亞希雅身上穿着一件新衣裳；他們二人在野地上，以外並沒有別人。亞希雅一把抓住自己身上的新衣裳，就撕成十二片；對耶羅波安說：『你拿十片去；因為永恆主以色列的上帝這麼說：「看吧，我必從所羅門手裏將國撕裂開來、將十個族派賜給你。（只因我僕人大衛的緣故、和我從以色列眾族派中所選擇的耶路撒冷城的緣故、所羅門仍然要有一個族派）因為他離棄了我，去敬拜西頓人的女神亞斯他錄、摩押的神基抹、和亞捫人的神米勒公，沒有走我的路，而行我所看為對的事，沒有像他父親大衛一樣守我的律例和典章。但我不是要將全國都從他手裏取回；我乃是要使他儘他活着的日子做人君；這是因着我所揀選的、我的僕人大衛、的緣故，因為他謹守我的誡命律例；我乃是要從他兒子手裏將王位取回，將十個族派賜給你，把一個族派給他兒子，好使我的僕人大衛在耶路撒冷、我所選擇做立我名的城裏、在我面前、日日不斷地有燈光。我要選取的乃是你，使你盡心之所願掌王權，作王管理以色列。

比加轄的軍官比加、利瑪利的兒子、反叛了他，在撒瑪利亞、王宮的衛所裏攻擊他；擁護比加的有基列人五十人；比加弒死了比加轄，接替他作王。

巴沙弒死了拿答，接替他作王、是在猶大王亞撒三年。

正如古人的俗語說：「惡事出於惡人」；我手卻不加害於你。

耶西就打發人去領他來：他臉色赤紅：雙目清秀，丰采俊美。永恆主說：『這一個就是了；你起來膏他。』撒母耳就拿了油角，在他哥哥們中間膏了他；從那一天起、永恆主的靈就大大感動大衛。於是撒母耳起身、往拉瑪去了。

他在床上圖謀着奸惡，在不善的路上站定了立場，並不棄絕壞事。

耶戶用滿了手力而開弓，射中了約蘭兩肩膀之間；箭從心窩穿出，約蘭就屈身、仆倒在車上。

有禍啊那些在床上圖謀奸惡、暗中作壞事的！因為他們手中有權力、天一亮就實行出來。

烏西雅的兒子約坦二十年、以拉的兒子何細亞反叛了利瑪利的兒子比加，攻擊他，弒死他，接替他作王。

大衛對亞比篩說：『不可殺害他；有誰伸手害永恆主所膏立的、而免受罰呢？』大衛又說：『我指着永活的永恆主來起誓：他或是被永恆主擊打，或是他日子已到，他自會死，或是他下戰場而被收拾，但我絕對不伸手去害永恆主所膏立的；現在你只要將他頭旁的矛和水罐拿來，我們就走。』

心利見城已被攻取，就進了王宮的衛所，放火焚燒王宮，自焚而死；

有禍啊！你這毁滅人者、而自己倒不被毁滅的！你這行詭詐者、而人倒不以詭詐待你的！你剛停止了毁滅人，你自己就要被毁滅了；你剛行完了詭詐，人就以詭詐待你了。
