約蘭在猶大山、築崇坵、威迫猶大族、耶路撒冷民、縱欲服事偶像。○或以先知以利亞書、陳於王、書畧曰、爾祖大闢之上帝耶和華云、因爾不從猶大王亞撒、及父約沙法之道、乃效以色列列王尤、使猶大族、耶路撒冷民、狥私欲、拜偶像、與亞哈家無異、亦因爾殺愈己之昆弟、故耶和華必降災於爾民、及爾妻孥、與凡所有、使爾患腸疾、腸墜日劇。○耶和華使非利士人與附古實之亞喇伯人、攻約蘭、侵猶大地、劫王宮貨財、擄其妻孥、惟季子約哈斯得免。嗣後耶和華擊約蘭、約蘭患腸疾、醫不能治。越二年腸墜、病劇而薨、前王沒、百姓焚香、至此無聞焉。約蘭年三十有二即位、都耶路撒冷、凡八載、死之日民無慕之者、葬於大闢邑、不在列王之墓。
