But Gehazi, the servant of Elisha the man of God, thought,“ Behold, my master has spared this Naaman the Aramean, by not accepting from his hand what he brought. As the Lord lives, I will run after him and take something from him.”So Gehazi pursued Naaman. When Naaman saw someone running after him, he came down from the chariot to meet him and said,“ Is everything well?”And he said,“ Everything is well. My master has sent me, saying,‘ Behold, just now two young men of the sons of the prophets have come to me from the hill country of Ephraim. Please give them a talent of silver and two changes of clothes.’ ”Naaman said,“ Be sure to take two talents.” And he urged him, and tied up two talents of silver in two bags with two changes of clothes, and gave them to two of his servants; and they carried them before him.When he came to the hill, he took them from their hand and deposited them in the house, and he sent the men away, and they departed.But he went in and stood before his master. And Elisha said to him,“ Where have you been, Gehazi?” And he said,“ Your servant went nowhere.”Then he said to him,“ Did my heart not go with you, when the man turned from his chariot to meet you? Is it a time to accept money and to accept clothes, olive groves, vineyards, sheep, oxen, and male and female slaves?Therefore, the leprosy of Naaman shall cling to you and to your descendants forever.” So he went out from his presence afflicted with leprosy, as white as snow.

Herod said,“ I myself had John beheaded; but who is this man about whom I hear such things?” And he kept trying to see Him.

Then he said to his servant Gehazi,“ Call this Shunammite.” And when he had called her, she stood before him.

So they came and called to the gatekeepers of the city, and told them, saying,“ We came to the camp of the Arameans, and behold, there was no one there, nor a human voice; only the horses tied and the donkeys tied, and the tents just as they were.”

So he went down and dipped himself in the Jordan seven times, in accordance with the word of the man of God; and his flesh was restored like the flesh of a little child, and he was clean.

He answered them,“ I told you already and you did not listen; why do you want to hear it again? You do not want to become His disciples too, do you?”

And he sent them to Bethlehem and said,“ Go and search carefully for the Child; and when you have found Him, report to me, so that I too may come and worship Him.”

Then he took the coat of Elijah that had fallen from him and struck the waters, and said,“ Where is the Lord, the God of Elijah?” And when he also had struck the waters, they were divided here and there; and Elisha crossed over.

When he looked behind him and saw them, he cursed them in the name of the Lord. Then two female bears came out of the woods and tore up forty two of the boys.

But the man of God sent word to the king of Israel, saying,“ Be careful that you do not pass this place, because the Arameans are coming down there.”And the king of Israel sent scouts to the place about which the man of God had told him; so he warned him, so that he was on his guard there, more than once or twice.Now the heart of the king of Aram was enraged over this matter; and he called his servants and said to them,“ Will you not tell me which of us is for the king of Israel?”One of his servants said,“ No, my lord, the king; but Elisha, the prophet who is in Israel, tells the king of Israel the words that you speak in your bedroom.”

Now Elisha was sitting in his house, and the elders were sitting with him. And the king sent a man from his presence; but before the messenger came to him, he said to the elders,“ Do you see how this son of a murderer has sent a man to cut off my head? Look, when the messenger comes, shut the door and hold the door shut against him. Is the sound of his master’s feet not behind him?”

So the people went out and plundered the camp of the Arameans. Then a measure of fine flour was sold for a shekel, and two measures of barley for a shekel, in accordance with the word of the Lord.Now the king appointed the royal officer on whose hand he leaned to be in charge of the gate; but the people trampled on him at the gate, and he died, just as the man of God had said, who spoke when the king came down to him.So it happened just as the man of God had spoken to the king, saying,“ Two measures of barley for a shekel and a measure of fine flour for a shekel, will be sold about this time tomorrow at the gate of Samaria.”At that time the royal officer had responded to the man of God and said,“ Now even if the Lord were to make windows in heaven, could such a thing as this happen?” And he had said,“ Behold, you are going to see it with your own eyes, but you will not eat any of it.”And this is what happened to him, for the people trampled on him at the gate and he died.

Then he said,“ At this season next year, you are going to embrace a son.” And she said,“ No, my lord, you man of God, do not lie to your servant.”Now the woman conceived and gave birth to a son at that season the next year, as Elisha had told her.

Then Elisha said,“ Listen to the word of the Lord; this is what the Lord says:‘ About this time tomorrow a measure of fine flour will be sold for a shekel, and two measures of barley for a shekel, at the gate of Samaria.’ ”

Now Herod was overjoyed when he saw Jesus; for he had wanted to see Him for a long time, because he had been hearing about Him and was hoping to see some sign performed by Him.

And he said,“ Bring me a new jar, and put salt in it.” So they brought it to him.Then he went out to the spring of water and threw salt in it and said,“ This is what the Lord says:‘ I have purified these waters; there shall not come from there death or unfruitfulness any longer.’ ”So the waters have been purified to this day, in accordance with the word of Elisha which he spoke.

Then the man of God said,“ Where did it fall?” And when he showed him the place, he cut off a stick and threw it in there, and made the iron float.

Now there were four leprous men at the entrance of the gate; and they said to one another,“ Why are we sitting here until we die?

Now some days later Felix arrived with Drusilla his wife, who was Jewish, and he sent for Paul and heard him speak about faith in Christ Jesus.

Then Elisha prayed and said,“ Lord, please, open his eyes so that he may see.” And the Lord opened the servant’s eyes, and he saw; and behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha.And when they came down to him, Elisha prayed to the Lord and said,“ Please strike this people with blindness.” So He struck them with blindness in accordance with the word of Elisha.Then Elisha said to them,“ This is not the way, nor is this the city; follow me and I will bring you to the man whom you seek.” And he brought them to Samaria.When they had come into Samaria, Elisha said,“ Lord, open the eyes of these men, so that they may see.” So the Lord opened their eyes, and they saw; and behold, they were in the midst of Samaria.

Elisha said,“ As surely as the Lord of armies lives, before whom I stand, if I did not respect Jehoshaphat the king of Judah, I would not look at you nor see you.But now bring me a musician.” And it came about, when the musician played, that the hand of the Lord came upon him.And he said,“ This is what the Lord says:‘ Make this valley full of trenches.’

Then he said,“ Go, borrow containers elsewhere for yourself, empty containers from all your neighbors— do not get too few.Then you shall come in and shut the door behind you and your sons, and pour into all these containers; and you shall set aside what is full.”So she left him and shut the door behind her and her sons; they began bringing the containers to her, and she poured the oil.When the containers were full, she said to her son,“ Bring me another container.” But he said to her,“ There are no more containers.” Then the oil stopped.
