Then David said to one of his men,“ Kill him!” So the man thrust his sword into the Amalekite and killed him.

So King Solomon ordered Benaiah son of Jehoiada to execute him, and Adonijah was put to death.

He frustrates the plans of schemers so the work of their hands will not succeed.

So Benaiah son of Jehoiada returned to the sacred tent and killed Joab, and he was buried at his home in the wilderness.

Evil people get rich for the moment, but the reward of the godly will last.

They cut off their hands and feet and hung their bodies beside the pool in Hebron. Then they took Ishbosheth’s head and buried it in Abner’s tomb in Hebron.

And he ordered his bodyguards,“ Kill these priests of the Lord, for they are allies and conspirators with David! They knew he was running away from me, but they didn’t tell me!” But Saul’s men refused to kill the Lord’s priests.Then the king said to Doeg,“ You do it.” So Doeg the Edomite turned on them and killed them that day, eighty five priests in all, still wearing their priestly garments.
