押尼珥回到希伯仑，约押领他到城门的瓮洞，假作要与他说机密话，就在那里刺透他的肚腹，他便死了。这是报杀他兄弟亚撒黑的仇。

所以当日人称基甸为耶路巴力，意思说：“他拆毁巴力的坛，让巴力与他争论。”

他们都要发言对你说：‘你也变为软弱像我们一样吗？你也成了我们的样子吗？’

撒玛利亚没有犯你一半的罪，你行可憎的事比她更多，使你的姐妹因你所行一切可憎的事，倒显为义。你既断定你姐妹为义，就要担当自己的羞辱；因你所犯的罪比她们更为可憎，她们就比你更显为义；你既使你的姐妹显为义，你就要抱愧担当自己的羞辱。”

你手未曾捆绑，脚未曾锁住。你死，如人死在罪孽之辈手下一样。”于是众民又为押尼珥哀哭。

求你救我脱离一切的过犯，不要使我受愚顽人的羞辱。

亚比米勒到提备斯，向提备斯安营，就攻取了那城。城中有一座坚固的楼；城里的众人，无论男女，都逃进楼去，关上门，上了楼顶。亚比米勒到了楼前攻打，挨近楼门，要用火焚烧。有一个妇人把一块上磨石抛在亚比米勒的头上，打破了他的脑骨。他就急忙喊叫拿他兵器的少年人，对他说：“拔出你的刀来，杀了我吧！免得人议论我说，他为一个妇人所杀。”于是少年人把他刺透，他就死了。
