And Absalom came to the king and said,“ Behold, your servant has sheepshearers. Please let the king and his servants go with your servant.”

他去见王，说：“我的工人正在剪羊毛，请王和众臣仆跟我一起去吧。”

押沙龙去见王说：“看哪！现在你的仆人雇了人剪羊毛；请王和王的臣仆与我一同去。”

押沙龍來見王，說：「現在有人為僕人剪羊毛，請王和王的臣僕與僕人同去。」

押沙龍來到王那裏，說：「看哪，有人正為你的僕人剪羊毛，請王和王的臣僕與你的僕人同去。」

他去見王，說：「我的工人正在剪羊毛，請王和眾臣僕跟我一起去吧。」

押沙龍去見王說：“看哪！現在你的僕人雇了人剪羊毛；請王和王的臣僕與我一同去。”

押沙龍來見王說：『看哪，現在有剪羊毛的人為僕人剪羊毛；請王和王的臣僕跟僕人一同去。』

押沙龍來見王，說：「看哪，現在有人為僕人剪羊毛，請王和王的臣僕們與僕人同去。」

乃覲王曰、有人為僕剪羊毛、請王及臣僕、與爾僕偕往、

覲王曰、臣僕僱人往剪羊毛、請王及群臣與我偕行。

押沙龍見王曰、有人為僕翦羊毛、請王與王之臣僕、同往筵宴、

Absalom went to the king and said,“ Your servant has had shearers come. Will the king and his attendants please join me?”

Absalom went to the king. He said,“ I’ve had my workers come to clip the wool. Will you and your attendants please join me?”

He went to the king and said,“ My sheep shearers are now at work. Would the king and his servants please come to celebrate the occasion with me?”

Then he went to the king and said,“ Your servant has just hired sheepshearers. Will the king and his servants please come with your servant?”

And Absalom came to the king and said,“ Behold now, your servant has sheepshearers; may the king and his servants please go with your servant.”

Then Absalom came to the king and said,“ Kindly note, your servant has sheepshearers; please, let the king and his servants go with your servant.”

And Absalom came to the king, and said, Behold now, thy servant hath sheep- shearers; let the king, I pray thee, and his servants go with thy servant.

Then he went to the king and said,“ Your servant has just hired sheepshearers. Will the king and his servants please come with your servant?”

And Absalom came to the king, and said, Behold now, thy servant hath sheepshearers; let the king, I beseech thee, and his servants go with thy servant.

Then Absalom went to the king and said,“ My shearers have begun their work. Let the king and his servants go with me.”

Absalom came to the king, and said,“ See now, your servant has sheep shearers. Please let the king and his servants go with your servant.”

His speech was smooth as butter, yet war was in his heart; his words were softer than oil, yet they were drawn swords.

Everyone utters lies to his neighbor; with flattering lips and a double heart they speak.

Then David said to Uriah,“ Go down to your house and wash your feet.” And Uriah went out of the king’s house, and there followed him a present from the king.But Uriah slept at the door of the king’s house with all the servants of his lord, and did not go down to his house.When they told David,“ Uriah did not go down to his house,” David said to Uriah,“ Have you not come from a journey? Why did you not go down to your house?”Uriah said to David,“ The ark and Israel and Judah dwell in booths, and my lord Joab and the servants of my lord are camping in the open field. Shall I then go to my house, to eat and to drink and to lie with my wife? As you live, and as your soul lives, I will not do this thing.”Then David said to Uriah,“ Remain here today also, and tomorrow I will send you back.” So Uriah remained in Jerusalem that day and the next.And David invited him, and he ate in his presence and drank, so that he made him drunk. And in the evening he went out to lie on his couch with the servants of his lord, but he did not go down to his house.In the morning David wrote a letter to Joab and sent it by the hand of Uriah.In the letter he wrote,“ Set Uriah in the forefront of the hardest fighting, and then draw back from him, that he may be struck down, and die.”

And Ishmael the son of Nethaniah came out from Mizpah to meet them, weeping as he came. As he met them, he said to them,“ Come in to Gedaliah the son of Ahikam.”When they came into the city, Ishmael the son of Nethaniah and the men with him slaughtered them and cast them into a cistern.
