But the king said,“ You and Joab are sons of Zeruiah. What does this have to do with you? Maybe the Lord said to him,‘ Curse David.’ If he did, who can ask him,‘ Why are you doing this?’ ”

王说：“洗鲁雅的儿子，我与你们有何关涉呢？他咒骂是因耶和华吩咐他说：‘你要咒骂大卫。’如此，谁敢说你为什么这样行呢？”

王说：“洗鲁雅的儿子，我与你们有何相干呢？他这样咒骂是因耶和华吩咐他：‘你要咒骂大卫。’如此，谁敢说：‘你为什么这样做呢？’”

王说：“洗鲁雅的儿子，我与你们有何相干呢？他这样咒骂是因耶和华吩咐他：‘你要咒骂大卫。’如此，谁敢说：‘你为什么这样做呢？’”

王却说：“洗鲁雅的儿子啊，不要管我的事。如果是耶和华叫他来咒骂我，谁能干涉他呢？”

王说：“洗鲁雅的儿子啊，我与你们有什么关系呢？如果他咒骂是因为耶和华对他说：‘你要咒骂大卫！’那么谁敢说：‘你为什么这样作呢？’”

王說：「洗魯雅的兒子，我與你們有何關涉呢？他咒罵是因耶和華吩咐他說：『你要咒罵大衛。』如此，誰敢說你為甚麼這樣行呢？」

王說：「洗魯雅的兒子，我與你們有何相干呢？他這樣咒罵是因耶和華吩咐他：『你要咒罵大衛。』如此，誰敢說：『你為甚麼這樣做呢？』」

王說：「洗魯雅的兒子，我與你們有何相干呢？他這樣咒罵是因耶和華吩咐他：『你要咒罵大衛。』如此，誰敢說：『你為甚麼這樣做呢？』」

王卻說：「洗魯雅的兒子啊，不要管我的事。如果是耶和華叫他來咒罵我，誰能干涉他呢？」

王說：“洗魯雅的兒子啊，我與你們有甚麼關係呢？如果他咒罵是因為耶和華對他說：‘你要咒罵大衛！’那麼誰敢說：‘你為甚麼這樣作呢？’”

王說：『洗魯雅的兒子啊，你們與我就不同意了。他咒罵，若是因為永恆主吩咐他「要咒罵大衛」那麼誰敢說：「你為甚麼這樣行呢？」』

王說：「洗魯雅的兒子們，我與你們有什麼關係呢？如果他這樣咒罵是因為耶和華吩咐他『你要詛咒大衛』，那麼誰能說『你為什麼這樣做呢？』」

王曰、洗魯雅子、我與爾何與、彼詛大衛、因耶和華命其詛之、孰敢言胡為行此乎、

王曰、西魯雅之子我與爾何與、耶和華使之詛大闢、誰能禦之、聽其咒詛可也。

王曰、爾西魯雅子乎、我與爾曹何與、聽其咒詛、蓋主命之曰、爾可詛大衛也、誰可問主曰、爾何為行此、

But the king said,“ What does this have to do with you, you sons of Zeruiah? If he is cursing because the Lord said to him,‘ Curse David,’ who can ask,‘ Why do you do this?’”

But the king said,“ What have I to do with you, you sons of Zeruiah? If he is cursing because the Lord has said to him,‘ Curse David,’ who then shall say,‘ Why have you done so?’”

“ No!” the king said.“ Who asked your opinion, you sons of Zeruiah! If the Lord has told him to curse me, who are you to stop him?”

The king replied,“ Sons of Zeruiah, do we agree on anything? He curses me this way because the LORD told him,‘ Curse David!’ Therefore, who can say,‘ Why did you do that?’”

But the king said,“ What business of mine is yours, you sons of Zeruiah? If he curses, and if the Lord has told him,‘ Curse David,’ then who should say,‘ Why have you done so?’ ”

But the king said,“ What have I to do with you, you sons of Zeruiah? So let him curse, because the Lord has said to him,‘ Curse David.’ Who then shall say,‘ Why have you done so?’”

And the king said, What have I to do with you, ye sons of Zeruiah? Because he curseth, and because Jehovah hath said unto him, Curse David; who then shall say, Wherefore hast thou done so?

The king replied,“ Sons of Zeruiah, do we agree on anything? He curses me this way because the Lord told him,‘ Curse David!’ Therefore, who can say,‘ Why did you do that?’”

And the king said, What have I to do with you, ye sons of Zeruiah? so let him curse, because the LORD hath said unto him, Curse David. Who shall then say, Wherefore hast thou done so?

But the king said,“ What do we have in common, you sons of Zeruiah? If he curses because the LORD has said to him,‘ Curse David!’, who can say to him,‘ Why have you done this?’”

The king said,“ What have I to do with you, you sons of Zeruiah? Because he curses, and because Yahweh has said to him,‘ Curse David;’ who then shall say,‘ Why have you done so?’”

But David replied,“ You and Joab are sons of Zeruiah. What does this have to do with you? What right do you have to interfere? Should anyone be put to death in Israel today? Don’t I know that today I am king over Israel again?”

But you are a mere human being. So who are you to talk back to God? Scripture says,“ Can what is made say to the one who made it,‘ Why did you make me like this?’ ”( Isaiah 29:16; 45:9)

I’m the anointed king. But today I’m weak. These sons of Zeruiah are too powerful for me. May the Lord pay back the one who killed Abner! May he pay him back for the evil thing he has done!”

Jesus commanded Peter,“ Put your sword away! Shouldn’t I drink the cup of suffering the Father has given me?”

People shouted at him and made fun of him. But he didn’t do the same thing back to them. When he suffered, he didn’t say he would make them suffer. Instead, he trusted in the God who judges fairly.

Finally, a spirit came forward and stood in front of the Lord. The spirit said,‘ I’ll get Ahab to do it.’“‘ How?’ the Lord asked.“ The spirit said,‘ I’ll go out and put lies in the mouths of all his prophets.’“‘ You will have success in getting Ahab to attack Ramoth Gilead,’ said the Lord.‘ Go and do it.’“ So the Lord has put lies in the mouths of all your prophets. He has said that great harm will come to you.”

The king has the final word. So who can ask him,“ What are you doing?”

Troubles and good things alike come to people because the Most High God has commanded them to come.A person who is still alive shouldn’t blame God when God punishes them for their sins.

If he takes something, who can stop him? Who would dare to ask him,‘ What are you doing?’

Besides, do you think I’ve come without receiving a message from the Lord? Have I come to attack and destroy this place without a message from him? The Lord himself told me to march out against your country. He told me to destroy it.” ’ ”

You planned to harm me. But God planned it for good. He planned to do what is now being done. He wanted to save many lives.

“ You yourself know what Joab, the son of Zeruiah, did to me. You know that he killed Abner, the son of Ner, and Amasa, the son of Jether. They were the two commanders of Israel’s armies. He killed them in a time of peace. It wasn’t a time of war. Joab spilled the blood of Abner and Amasa. With that blood he stained the belt around his waist. He also stained the sandals on his feet.

Jesus turned and said to Peter,“ Get behind me, Satan! You are standing in my way. You do not have in mind the things God cares about. Instead, you only have in mind the things humans care about.”

The disciples James and John saw this. They asked,“ Lord, do you want us to call down fire from heaven to destroy them?”But Jesus turned and commanded them not to do it.Then Jesus and his disciples went on to another village.

He considers all the nations on earth to be nothing. He does as he pleases with the powers of heaven. He does what he wants with the nations of the earth. No one can hold back his hand. No one can say to him,“ What have you done?”
