David then said to Abishai and all his officials,“ My son, my own flesh and blood, is trying to kill me. How much more, then, this Benjamite! Leave him alone; let him curse, for the Lord has told him to.

耶和华又对他说：“这人不会成为你的继承人，你亲生的儿子才是你的继承人。”

耶和华说，‘我要在你家中降下灾祸，我要当着你的面把你的妻妾交给你的近臣，他必在光天化日之下与她们行淫。你在暗地里做这恶事，我要让这样的恶事当着以色列人的面在光天化日之下临到你。’”

“那时，人必把自己的弟兄置于死地，父亲必把儿子置于死地，儿女必反叛父母，置他们于死地。

亚希多弗对押沙龙说：“让我挑选一万二千人，今夜启程追赶大卫，趁他疲惫无力的时候袭击他，使他惊慌失措，他的部下必逃命。我只把王一个人杀掉，把他的部下全都带来归顺你。你寻索的人既然死了，跟随他的人必然会归顺你。这样，大家就平安无事了。”押沙龙和以色列的长老都赞成这个提议。

一天，亚述王在他的神明尼斯洛的庙里祭拜时，他的两个儿子亚得米勒和沙利色用刀杀了他，逃往亚拉腊。他的另一个儿子以撒哈顿继位。

所以，我任由他们效法无用的律例，遵守无法使人活着的规条，

现在，你们不要因为把我卖到这里而自怨自责。上帝差我先来这里，是为了保住大家的性命。

一天，王对拿单先知说：“你看！我住在香柏木造的王宫中，但上帝的约柜还留在帐篷里。”

如果先知受迷惑说预言，那是我耶和华任他胡作非为，我必伸手惩治他，把他从我的以色列百姓中除灭。

耶和华就差遣一个天使进入亚述王营中，毁灭了所有的勇士、官长和将领。西拿基立只好满脸羞愧地返回自己的国家。趁他去他神明的庙里时，他的几个亲生儿子用刀杀了他。

耶和华说：“亚述王有祸了！他是我的愤怒之棍，他手中拿着我发烈怒的杖。我要差遣他去攻打一个不虔敬的国家，一个惹我发怒的民族，去抢夺、掳掠他们的财物，像践踏街上的泥土一样践踏他们。可是他却不这样想，心里也不这样盘算，他只想毁灭许多国家。
