王问说：“少年人押沙龙平安不平安？”亚希玛斯回答说：“约押打发王的仆人，那时仆人听见众民大声喧哗，却不知道是什么事。”

王说：“年轻人押沙龙平安吗？”亚希玛斯说：“约押派王的仆人，就是你的仆人时，我看见一阵大骚动，却不知道是什么事。”

王说：“年轻人押沙龙平安吗？”亚希玛斯说：“约押派王的仆人，就是你的仆人时，我看见一阵大骚动，却不知道是什么事。”

王问道：“年轻的押沙龙平安吗？”亚希玛斯答道：“约押派仆人来的时候，仆人看见一阵大骚动，但不知道是什么事。”

王问：“那年轻人押沙龙平安不平安？”亚希玛斯回答：“约押差派王的仆人，就是你的仆人我来的时候，我看见有大动乱，却不知道是什么事。”

王問說：「少年人押沙龍平安不平安？」亞希瑪斯回答說：「約押打發王的僕人，那時僕人聽見眾民大聲喧嘩，卻不知道是甚麼事。」

王問道：「年輕的押沙龍平安嗎？」亞希瑪斯答道：「約押派僕人來的時候，僕人看見一陣大騷動，但不知道是什麼事。」

王問：“那年輕人押沙龍平安不平安？”亞希瑪斯回答：“約押差派王的僕人，就是你的僕人我來的時候，我看見有大動亂，卻不知道是甚麼事。”

王問說：『孩子押沙龍平安不平安？』亞希瑪斯說：『當約押打發王的僕人、就是你的僕人的時候，我見有大喧嚷，卻不知道是甚麼事。』

王就問：「那年輕人押沙龍平安嗎？」亞希瑪斯說：「約押差遣王的臣僕——你僕人時，我看見有大喧鬧，卻不知道是什麼事。」

王曰、少者押沙龍安否、亞希瑪斯曰、約押遣王之僕時、我見眾大喧譁、不知何故、

王曰、少者押沙龍安否。亞希馬斯曰、約押遣王之臣僕及我時、我見眾喧嘩、不知何故。

王曰、少者押沙龍安否、亞希瑪斯曰、約押遣王之僕及我時、我見眾大諠譁、或作我見眾大集不知何故、

The king asked,“ Is the young man Absalom safe?” Ahimaaz answered,“ I saw great confusion just as Joab was about to send the king’s servant and me, your servant, but I don’t know what it was.”

The king asked,“ Is the young man Absalom safe?” Ahimaaz answered,“ I saw total disorder. I saw it just as Joab was about to send the king’s servant and me to you. But I don’t know what it was all about.”

And the king said,“ Is it well with the young man Absalom?” Ahimaaz answered,“ When Joab sent the king’s servant, your servant, I saw a great commotion, but I do not know what it was.”

“ What about young Absalom?” the king demanded.“ Is he all right?” Ahimaaz replied,“ When Joab told me to come, there was a lot of commotion. But I didn’t know what was happening.”

The king asked,“ Is the young man Absalom all right?” Ahimaaz replied,“ When Joab sent the king’s servant and your servant, I saw a big disturbance, but I don’t know what it was.”

But the king said,“ Is it well with the young man Absalom?” And Ahimaaz answered,“ When Joab sent the king’s servant, and your servant, I saw a great commotion, but I did not know what it was.”

The king said,“ Is the young man Absalom safe?” Ahimaaz answered,“ When Joab sent the king’s servant and me your servant, I saw a great tumult, but I did not know what it was about.”

And the king said, Is it well with the young man Absalom? And Ahimaaz answered, When Joab sent the king’s servant, even me thy servant, I saw a great tumult, but I knew not what it was.

The king asked,“ Is the young man Absalom all right?” Ahimaaz replied,“ When Joab sent the king’s servant and your servant, I saw a big disturbance, but I don’t know what it was.”

And the king said, Is the young man Absalom safe? And Ahimaaz answered, When Joab sent the king’s servant, and[ me] thy servant, I saw a great tumult, but I knew not what[ it was].

The king replied,“ How is the young man Absalom?” Ahimaaz replied,“ I saw a great deal of confusion when Joab was sending the king’s servant and me, your servant, but I don’t know what it was all about.”

The king said,“ Is it well with the young man Absalom?” Ahimaaz answered,“ When Joab sent the king’s servant, even me your servant, I saw a great tumult, but I don’t know what it was.”

Ahimaaz son of Zadok again said to Joab,“ Come what may, please let me run behind the Cushite.” But Joab replied,“ My son, why do you want to go? You don’t have any news that will bring you a reward.” (niv)

Joab said to Amasa,“ How are you, my brother?” Then Joab took Amasa by the beard with his right hand to kiss him. (niv)

Now Ahimaaz son of Zadok said,“ Let me run and take the news to the king that the Lord has vindicated him by delivering him from the hand of his enemies.”“ You are not the one to take the news today,” Joab told him.“ You may take the news another time, but you must not do so today, because the king’s son is dead.” (niv)
