今僕年八十、所食所飲、豈能知其味、辨其美惡乎、男女謳歌、豈能聞其聲乎、何為累我主我王、

我今年八十、所食所飲、不知其味、不別美惡、謳歌之男女、不能分其聲、臣與王偕、適以阻王而已。

僕今八十歲、能別美惡乎、能識所食所飲之味乎、能辨謳歌男女之聲乎、僕何必負累我主我王、

I am now eighty years old. Can I tell the difference between what is enjoyable and what is not? Can your servant taste what he eats and drinks? Can I still hear the voices of male and female singers? Why should your servant be an added burden to my lord the king?

I’m already 80 years old. I can hardly tell the difference between what is enjoyable and what isn’t. I can hardly taste what I eat and drink. I can’t even hear the voices of male and female singers anymore. So why should I add my problems to yours?

I am this day eighty years old. Can I discern what is pleasant and what is not? Can your servant taste what he eats or what he drinks? Can I still listen to the voice of singing men and singing women? Why then should your servant be an added burden to my lord the king?

I am eighty years old today, and I can no longer enjoy anything. Food and wine are no longer tasty, and I cannot hear the singers as they sing. I would only be a burden to my lord the king.

大衛對他說：「你若與我一同過去，必拖累我；

此外，還有他們的僕婢七千三百三十七名，又有歌唱的男女二百名。

我們一生的年日是七十歲，若是強壯可到八十歲；但其中所矜誇的不過是勞苦愁煩，轉眼即逝，我們便如飛而去。

若一家的人太少，吃不了一隻羔羊，就要按照人數和隔壁的鄰舍共取一隻；你們要按每人的食量來估算羔羊。

我為自己積蓄金銀，搜集各君王、各省份的財寶；又為自己得男女歌手和世人所喜愛的物，以及一個又一個的妃嬪。

耳朵豈不辨別言語，正如上膛品嘗食物嗎？

此外，還有他們的僕婢七千三百三十七名，又有歌唱的男女二百四十五名。

你趁着年輕、衰老的日子尚未來到，就是你所說，我毫無喜悅的那些歲月來臨之前，當記念造你的主。不要等到太陽、光明、月亮、星宿變為黑暗，雨後雲又返回；看守房屋的發顫，強壯的屈身，推磨的婦女因人少而停工，從窗戶往外看的眼光變為昏暗；街門關閉，推磨的聲音微小，鳥一叫，就驚醒，唱歌女子的聲音也都微弱；人怕高處，路上有驚慌；杏樹開花，蚱蜢成為重擔，慾望不再挑起；因為人歸他永遠的家，弔喪的在街上往來。

我的舌頭豈有不公義嗎？我的上膛豈不辨奸惡嗎？」

法老的女兒對她說：「去吧！」那女孩就去叫了孩子的母親來。

惟獨長大成人的才能吃乾糧，他們的心竅因練習而靈活，能分辨善惡了。

因為你們已經嘗過主恩的滋味。

禍哉！那些清晨早起，追尋烈酒，因酒狂熱，流連到深夜的人，他們在宴席上彈琴，鼓瑟，擊鼓，吹笛，飲酒，卻不留意耶和華的作為，也不留心他手所做的。

王對押沙龍說：「不，我兒，我們不必都去，免得成了你的負擔。」押沙龍再三請王，王仍是不肯去，只為他祝福。
