「你要恩待基列人巴西萊的眾子，讓他們成為你的座上賓，因為我逃避你哥哥押沙龍的時候，他們曾接待我。

他們啟程前往埃及，途中在伯利恆附近的基羅特金罕住下。

王過河後，來到吉甲，金罕跟隨著他。護送王的有猶大的士兵和半數的以色列士兵。

我的生命如同奉獻在祭壇上的酒正傾倒出來，我離世的日子快要到了。

我與祖先同眠後，你要把我帶出埃及安葬在我祖先的身邊。」約瑟說：「我必照你說的做。」

「主啊，現在你的話已經成就，可以讓你的奴僕安然離世了，因為我已親眼看到你的救恩，

竟然在祂禁止你吃喝的地方吃飯喝水，因此你的屍體必不得安葬在你的祖墳裡。」

「我快要走完人世的路程了。你們深知你們的上帝耶和華賜給你們的一切美好應許沒有一句落空，都已經應驗了。

雅各又囑咐他們說：「我要離世了，你們要把我葬在赫人以弗崙田間的洞裡，讓我與祖先在一起。那洞穴在迦南幔利附近的麥比拉田間，是亞伯拉罕向赫人以弗崙買來作墳地的。亞伯拉罕和他的妻子撒拉，以撒和他的妻子利百加都葬在那裡，我把利亞也葬在了那裡。

因我知道自己離世的日子已經不遠了，正如我們的主耶穌基督指示我的。

以色列對約瑟說：「我快死了，但上帝必與你們同在，帶你們回到你們祖先的土地。

把父親的遺體帶回迦南，安葬在幔利附近、麥比拉田間的洞裡。洞和田地都是亞伯拉罕向赫人以弗崙買來作墳地的。
