However he refused to turn away. Therefore Abner with the back end of the spear struck him in the body, so that the spear came out behind him; and he fell down there, and died in the same place. As many as came to the place where Asahel fell down and died stood still.

押尼珥回到希伯崙，約押領他轉到城門的甕洞裏，彷彿要和他說機密話的樣子，就在那裏刺透他的五臟，他便死了：這是為他兄弟亞撒黑報血仇的。

那家守門的女人正在簸麥子，竟打盹睡着；利甲和他兄弟巴拿就溜進去。

王和跟隨的人到了耶路撒冷、要攻打那地的居民耶布斯人；耶布斯人對大衛說道：『你不能進這裏來；只須瞎眼的瘸腿的便可以將你擊退』，意思是說：大衛總不能進那裏去。

亞瑪撒沒有提防約押手裏的刀，約押用刀刺入他的五臟，他的腸子流在地上，沒有再刺他，他就死了。約押和他的兄弟亞比篩往前追趕比基利的兒子示巴。

亞瑪撒在大路上輥在自己的血裏。各人一看見，到他屍旁，就站着。那人看見眾民經過，都站着，就把亞瑪撒從大路上挪到田間，丟件衣服蓋着。屍身從大路上挪移之後，眾民就都過去跟着約押、去追趕比基利的兒子示巴。
