我年老的時候，求你不要丟棄我！我體力衰弱時，求你不要離棄我！

大衛就遵照耶和華所吩咐的去做，攻打非利士人，從迦巴直到基色。

你豈不曾知道嗎？你豈未曾聽見嗎？永在的神耶和華，創造地極的主，他不疲乏，也不困倦；他的智慧無法測度。疲乏的，他賜能力；軟弱的，他加力量。就是年輕人也要疲乏困倦，強壯的也必全然跌倒。

我的肉體和我的心腸衰殘；但神是我心裏的力量，又是我的福分，直到永遠。

後來，以色列人在基色與非利士人打仗。戶沙人西比該殺了巨人族的後裔細派，非利士人就被制伏了。

神啊，我年老髮白的時候，求你不要離棄我！等我宣揚你的能力給下一代，宣揚你的大能給後世的人。

耶和華如此說：「智慧人不要因他的智慧誇口，勇士不要因他的力氣誇口，財主也不要因他的財富誇口；誇口的卻要誇自己有聰明，認識我是耶和華，知道我喜悅在世上施行慈愛、公平和公義。這是耶和華說的。

因為「凡血肉之軀的盡都如草，他的一切榮美像草上的花；草必枯乾，花必凋謝，惟有主的道永遠常存。」這話就是傳給你們的福音。
