But Abishai son of Zeruiah came to David’s rescue; he struck the Philistine down and killed him. Then David’s men swore to him, saying,“ Never again will you go out with us to battle, so that the lamp of Israel will not be extinguished.”

But Abishai, the son of Zeruiah, came to save David. He struck down the Philistine and killed him. Then David’s men made a promise. They said to David,“ We never want you to go out with us to battle again. You are the lamp of Israel’s kingdom. We want that lamp to keep on burning brightly.”

But Abishai the son of Zeruiah came to his aid and attacked the Philistine and killed him. Then David’s men swore to him,“ You shall no longer go out with us to battle, lest you quench the lamp of Israel.”

大衛對亞比篩說：「現在比基利的兒子示巴對我們的危害恐怕比押沙龍更大。你要帶領你主的一些僕人追趕他，免得他得了堅固的城鎮，在我們眼前逃脫。」約押的人和基利提人、比利提人，以及所有的勇士都跟着亞比篩，從耶路撒冷出去追趕比基利的兒子示巴。他們到了基遍的大石頭那裏，亞瑪撒來迎接他們。那時約押穿着戰衣，腰束佩刀的帶子，刀在鞘內。約押前行時，刀從鞘內掉出來。約押對亞瑪撒說：「我的弟兄，你平安嗎？」他就用右手抓住亞瑪撒的鬍子，要親吻他。亞瑪撒沒有防備約押手裏拿着的刀；約押用刀刺入他的肚腹，他的腸子流在地上，約押沒有再刺，他就死了。約押和他弟弟亞比篩往前追趕比基利的兒子示巴。

耶和華啊，你是我的燈；耶和華必照明我的黑暗。

約翰是點亮的明燈，你們情願因他的光歡欣一時。

神是我們的避難所，是我們的力量，是我們在患難中隨時的幫助。

他不是那光，而是要為那光作見證。那光是真光，來到世上，照亮所有的人。

我遭遇災難的日子，他們來攻擊我；但耶和華是我的倚靠。

你是那拯救君王的，你是那救僕人大衛脫離害命之刀的。

看哪，全家族都起來攻擊婢女，說：『把那打死兄弟的交出來，我們好處死他，為他所打死的兄弟償命，滅絕那承受家業的。』這樣，他們要把我剩下的炭火滅盡，不給我丈夫留名或留後在地面上。」
