One must use iron tools to chop them down; they will be totally consumed by fire.”

Whoever touches thorns uses a tool of iron or the shaft of a spear; they are burned up where they lie.”

Yes, every tree that does not produce good fruit will be chopped down and thrown into the fire.“ I baptize with water those who repent of their sins and turn to God. But someone is coming soon who is greater than I am— so much greater that I’m not worthy even to be his slave and carry his sandals. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and with fire.He is ready to separate the chaff from the wheat with his winnowing fork. Then he will clean up the threshing area, gathering the wheat into his barn but burning the chaff with never ending fire.”

But his people hated him and sent a delegation after him to say,‘ We do not want him to be our king.’

“ Then the earth quaked and trembled. The foundations of the heavens shook; they quaked because of his anger.Smoke poured from his nostrils; fierce flames leaped from his mouth. Glowing coals blazed forth from him.He opened the heavens and came down; dark storm clouds were beneath his feet.

And the angels will throw them into the fiery furnace, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

Anyone who does not remain in me is thrown away like a useless branch and withers. Such branches are gathered into a pile to be burned.

Then the man of lawlessness will be revealed, but the Lord Jesus will slay him with the breath of his mouth and destroy him by the splendor of his coming.

My anger will be gone. If I find briers and thorns growing, I will attack them; I will burn them up—

in flaming fire, bringing judgment on those who don’t know God and on those who refuse to obey the Good News of our Lord Jesus.
