And Araunah said, Wherefore is my lord the king come to his servant? And David said, To buy the threshingfloor of thee, to build an altar unto the LORD, that the plague may be stayed from the people.

亚劳拿问：“我主我王为什么来到你仆人这里呢？”大卫回答：“是要向你买这打禾场，好为耶和华筑一座祭坛，使民间的瘟疫可以止住。”

說：「我主我王為何來到僕人這裏呢？」大衛說：「我要買你這禾場，為耶和華築一座壇，使民間的瘟疫止住。」

亞勞拿說：「我主我王為何來到僕人這裏呢？」大衛說：「我要買你這禾場，為耶和華築一座壇，使瘟疫在百姓中停止。」

說：「我主我王到僕人這裡有什麼事？」大衛說：「我要買你的麥場，好在這裡為耶和華築一座壇，使百姓當中的瘟疫止住。」

亞勞拿問：“我主我王為甚麼來到你僕人這裡呢？”大衛回答：“是要向你買這打禾場，好為耶和華築一座祭壇，使民間的瘟疫可以止住。”

亞勞拿說：『我主我王為甚麼來到僕人這裏呢？』大衛說：『是要從你買這禾場，好為永恆主築座祭壇，使疫症可以被抑制住、不再流行於民間。』

亞勞拿問：「我主我王為什麼來到你僕人這裡呢？」大衛說：「是要向你買這打穀場，好為耶和華築一座祭壇，使瘟疫在百姓中間止住。」

曰、我主我王蒞臨僕所曷故、大衛曰、欲購禾場、為耶和華築壇、使疫止於民間、

曰我主我王、蒞臨僕所、曷故。大闢曰、欲購穀場、以築祭壇、奉事耶和華、使疫止於民間。

曰、我主我王、蒞臨僕所何故、大衛曰、欲購爾之禾場、為主建祭臺、使瘟疫止於民間、

Araunah said,“ Why has my lord the king come to his servant?”“ To buy your threshing floor,” David answered,“ so I can build an altar to the Lord, that the plague on the people may be stopped.”

Araunah said,“ King David, you are my master. Why have you come to see me?”“ To buy your threshing floor,” David answered.“ I want to build an altar there to honor the Lord. When I do, the plague on the people will be stopped.”

And Araunah said,“ Why has my lord the king come to his servant?” David said,“ To buy the threshing floor from you, in order to build an altar to the Lord, that the plague may be averted from the people.”

“ Why have you come, my lord the king?” Araunah asked. David replied,“ I have come to buy your threshing floor and to build an altar to the Lord there, so that he will stop the plague.”

Araunah said,“ Why has my lord the king come to his servant?” David replied,“ To buy the threshing floor from you in order to build an altar to the LORD, so the plague on the people may be halted.”

Then Araunah said,“ Why has my lord the king come to his servant?” And David said,“ To buy the threshing floor from you, in order to build an altar to the Lord, so that the plague may be withdrawn from the people.”

Then Araunah said,“ Why has my Lord the king come to his servant?” And David said,“ To buy the threshing floor from you, to build an altar to the Lord, that the plague may be withdrawn from the people.”

And Araunah said, Wherefore is my lord the king come to his servant? And David said, To buy the threshing- floor of thee, to build an altar unto Jehovah, that the plague may be stayed from the people.

Araunah said,“ Why has my lord the king come to his servant?” David replied,“ To buy the threshing floor from you in order to build an altar to the Lord, so the plague on the people may be halted.”

Araunah said,“ Why has my lord the king come to his servant?” David replied,“ To buy from you the threshing floor so I can build an altar for the LORD, so that the plague may be removed from the people.”

Araunah said,“ Why has my lord the king come to his servant?” David said,“ To buy your threshing floor, to build an altar to Yahweh, that the plague may be stopped from afflicting the people.”

Then stood up Phinehas, and executed judgment: and[ so] the plague was stayed.

And he communed with them, saying, If it be your mind that I should bury my dead out of my sight; hear me, and intreat for me to Ephron the son of Zohar,That he may give me the cave of Machpelah, which he hath, which[ is] in the end of his field; for as much money as it is worth he shall give it me for a possession of a buryingplace amongst you.And Ephron dwelt among the children of Heth: and Ephron the Hittite answered Abraham in the audience of the children of Heth,[ even] of all that went in at the gate of his city, saying,Nay, my lord, hear me: the field give I thee, and the cave that[ is] therein, I give it thee; in the presence of the sons of my people give I it thee: bury thy dead.And Abraham bowed down himself before the people of the land.And he spake unto Ephron in the audience of the people of the land, saying, But if thou[ wilt give it], I pray thee, hear me: I will give thee money for the field; take[ it] of me, and I will bury my dead there.And Ephron answered Abraham, saying unto him,My lord, hearken unto me: the land[ is worth] four hundred shekels of silver; what[ is] that betwixt me and thee? bury therefore thy dead.And Abraham hearkened unto Ephron; and Abraham weighed to Ephron the silver, which he had named in the audience of the sons of Heth, four hundred shekels of silver, current[ money] with the merchant.

And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,Get you up from among this congregation, that I may consume them as in a moment. And they fell upon their faces.And Moses said unto Aaron, Take a censer, and put fire therein from off the altar, and put on incense, and go quickly unto the congregation, and make an atonement for them: for there is wrath gone out from the LORD; the plague is begun.And Aaron took as Moses commanded, and ran into the midst of the congregation; and, behold, the plague was begun among the people: and he put on incense, and made an atonement for the people.And he stood between the dead and the living; and the plague was stayed.Now they that died in the plague were fourteen thousand and seven hundred, beside them that died about the matter of Korah.And Aaron returned unto Moses unto the door of the tabernacle of the congregation: and the plague was stayed.

And Gad came that day to David, and said unto him, Go up, rear an altar unto the LORD in the threshingfloor of Araunah the Jebusite.

And he went after the man of Israel into the tent, and thrust both of them through, the man of Israel, and the woman through her belly. So the plague was stayed from the children of Israel.

And Joab said unto the king, Now the LORD thy God add unto the people, how many soever they be, an hundredfold, and that the eyes of my lord the king may see[ it]: but why doth my lord the king delight in this thing?

Then David said to Ornan, Grant me the place of[ this] threshingfloor, that I may build an altar therein unto the LORD: thou shalt grant it me for the full price: that the plague may be stayed from the people.

Wherefore David said unto the Gibeonites, What shall I do for you? and wherewith shall I make the atonement, that ye may bless the inheritance of the LORD?And the Gibeonites said unto him, We will have no silver nor gold of Saul, nor of his house; neither for us shalt thou kill any man in Israel. And he said, What ye shall say,[ that] will I do for you.And they answered the king, The man that consumed us, and that devised against us[ that] we should be destroyed from remaining in any of the coasts of Israel,Let seven men of his sons be delivered unto us, and we will hang them up unto the LORD in Gibeah of Saul,[ whom] the LORD did choose. And the king said, I will give[ them].But the king spared Mephibosheth, the son of Jonathan the son of Saul, because of the LORD’S oath that[ was] between them, between David and Jonathan the son of Saul.But the king took the two sons of Rizpah the daughter of Aiah, whom she bare unto Saul, Armoni and Mephibosheth; and the five sons of Michal the daughter of Saul, whom she brought up for Adriel the son of Barzillai the Meholathite:And he delivered them into the hands of the Gibeonites, and they hanged them in the hill before the LORD: and they fell[ all] seven together, and were put to death in the days of harvest, in the first[ days], in the beginning of barley harvest.And Rizpah the daughter of Aiah took sackcloth, and spread it for her upon the rock, from the beginning of harvest until water dropped upon them out of heaven, and suffered neither the birds of the air to rest on them by day, nor the beasts of the field by night.And it was told David what Rizpah the daughter of Aiah, the concubine of Saul, had done.And David went and took the bones of Saul and the bones of Jonathan his son from the men of Jabeshgilead, which had stolen them from the street of Bethshan, where the Philistines had hanged them, when the Philistines had slain Saul in Gilboa:And he brought up from thence the bones of Saul and the bones of Jonathan his son; and they gathered the bones of them that were hanged.And the bones of Saul and Jonathan his son buried they in the country of Benjamin in Zelah, in the sepulchre of Kish his father: and they performed all that the king commanded. And after that God was intreated for the land.

And Jeremiah said, The word of the LORD came unto me, saying,Behold, Hanameel the son of Shallum thine uncle shall come unto thee, saying, Buy thee my field that[ is] in Anathoth: for the right of redemption[ is] thine to buy[ it].So Hanameel mine uncle’s son came to me in the court of the prison according to the word of the LORD, and said unto me, Buy my field, I pray thee, that[ is] in Anathoth, which[ is] in the country of Benjamin: for the right of inheritance[ is] thine, and the redemption[ is] thine; buy[ it] for thyself. Then I knew that this[ was] the word of the LORD.And I bought the field of Hanameel my uncle’s son, that[ was] in Anathoth, and weighed him the money,[ even] seventeen shekels of silver.And I subscribed the evidence, and sealed[ it], and took witnesses, and weighed[ him] the money in the balances.So I took the evidence of the purchase,[ both] that which was sealed[ according] to the law and custom, and that which was open:And I gave the evidence of the purchase unto Baruch the son of Neriah, the son of Maaseiah, in the sight of Hanameel mine uncle’s[ son], and in the presence of the witnesses that subscribed the book of the purchase, before all the Jews that sat in the court of the prison.And I charged Baruch before them, saying,Thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Take these evidences, this evidence of the purchase, both which is sealed, and this evidence which is open; and put them in an earthen vessel, that they may continue many days.
