约押对王说：“无论百姓多少，愿耶和华你的神再加增百倍，使我主我王亲眼得见。我主我王何必喜悦行这事呢？”

约押对王说：“愿耶和华—你的上帝使百姓的数目增加百倍，使我主我王亲眼得见。我主我王何必要做这事呢？”

约押对王说：“愿耶和华—你的神使百姓的数目增加百倍，使我主我王亲眼得见。我主我王何必要做这事呢？”

约押说：“我主我王，愿你的上帝耶和华使国民增加百倍，让你亲眼看到。但我主我王为什么要统计人口呢？”

约押回答王：“无论人民有多少，愿耶和华你的神再增加一百倍，又愿我主我王亲眼看见。不过，我主我王为什么喜欢这事呢？”

約押對王說：「無論百姓多少，願耶和華－你的神再加增百倍，使我主我王親眼得見。我主我王何必喜悅行這事呢？」

約押對王說：「願耶和華－你的上帝使百姓的數目增加百倍，使我主我王親眼得見。我主我王何必要做這事呢？」

約押對王說：「願耶和華－你的神使百姓的數目增加百倍，使我主我王親眼得見。我主我王何必要做這事呢？」

約押說：「我主我王，願你的上帝耶和華使國民增加百倍，讓你親眼看到。但我主我王為什麼要統計人口呢？」

約押回答王：“無論人民有多少，願耶和華你的神再增加一百倍，又願我主我王親眼看見。不過，我主我王為甚麼喜歡這事呢？”

約押對王說：『願永恆主你的上帝使人民比他們現在再增加一百倍，並使我主我王親眼看見；但我主我王為甚麼喜歡行這事呢？』

約押對王說：「願耶和華你的神使軍兵增添到現在的一百倍，讓我主我王親眼看見。我主我王何必想做這事呢？」

約押謂王曰、無論民數多寡、惟願爾之上帝耶和華增益百倍、我主我王目擊其事、然我主我王何樂行此、

約押告王曰、勿論民數多寡、惟願耶和華爾之上帝、增益百倍、我主我王目擊其事、然我主我王喜於核民、誠何故哉。

約押曰、無論民數多寡、惟願主爾之天主增益百倍、並使我主我王目睹之、我主我王何為欲行此事乎、

But Joab replied to the king,“ May the Lord your God multiply the troops a hundred times over, and may the eyes of my lord the king see it. But why does my lord the king want to do such a thing?”

Joab replied to the king. He said,“ King David, you are my master. May the Lord your God multiply the troops 100 times. And may you live to see it. But why would you want me to count the fighting men?”

But Joab said to the king,“ May the Lord your God add to the people a hundred times as many as they are, while the eyes of my lord the king still see it, but why does my lord the king delight in this thing?”

But Joab replied to the king,“ May the Lord your God let you live to see a hundred times as many people as there are now! But why, my lord the king, do you want to do this?”

Joab replied to the king,“ May the LORD your God multiply the troops a hundred times more than they are— while my lord the king looks on! But why does my lord the king want to do this?”

But Joab said to the king,“ May the Lord your God add to the people a hundred times as many as they are, while the eyes of my lord the king can still see; but why does my lord the king delight in this thing?”

And Joab said to the king,“ Now may the Lord your God add to the people a hundred times more than there are, and may the eyes of my Lord the king see it. But why does my Lord the king desire this thing?”

And Joab said unto the king, Now Jehovah thy God add unto the people, how many soever they may be, a hundredfold; and may the eyes of my lord the king see it: but why doth my lord the king delight in this thing?

Joab replied to the king,“ May the Lord your God multiply the troops 100 times more than they are— while my lord the king looks on! But why does my lord the king want to do this?”

And Joab said unto the king, Now the LORD thy God add unto the people, how many soever they be, an hundredfold, and that the eyes of my lord the king may see[ it]: but why doth my lord the king delight in this thing?

Joab replied to the king,“ May the LORD your God make the army a hundred times larger right before the eyes of my lord the king! But why does my master the king want to do this?”

Joab said to the king,“ Now may Yahweh your God add to the people, however many they may be, one hundred times; and may the eyes of my lord the king see it. But why does my lord the king delight in this thing?”

May the Lord, the God of your ancestors, increase you a thousand times and bless you as he has promised! (niv)

May the Lord cause you to flourish, both you and your children. (niv)

Then you will look and be radiant, your heart will throb and swell with joy; the wealth on the seas will be brought to you, to you the riches of the nations will come. (niv)

Be strong, and let us fight bravely for our people and the cities of our God. The Lord will do what is good in his sight.” (niv)

A large population is a king’s glory, but without subjects a prince is ruined. (niv)

But Joab replied,“ May the Lord multiply his troops a hundred times over. My lord the king, are they not all my lord’s subjects? Why does my lord want to do this? Why should he bring guilt on Israel?”The king’s word, however, overruled Joab; so Joab left and went throughout Israel and then came back to Jerusalem. (niv)
