when someone told me,‘ Saul is dead,’ and thought he was bringing good news, I seized him and put him to death in Ziklag. That was the reward I gave him for his news!

第三天，忽然有一个人从扫罗的营回来，衣服撕裂，头上蒙灰。这人一来到大卫面前，就俯伏在地上叩拜他。大卫问他：“你从哪里来？”他对他说：“我是从以色列的营中逃出来的。”大卫又问他：“情况怎么样？请你告诉我！”他回答：“众人都逃离战场，他们中间不但有许多人倒地阵亡，连扫罗和他的儿子约拿单也死了。”于是，大卫问那向他报信的年轻人：“你怎么知道扫罗和他的儿子死了呢？”那个向大卫报信的年轻人回答：“我刚巧在基利波山，看见扫罗靠在自己的矛枪上，又见有战车和马兵紧紧地追赶他。他回头看到我，就呼唤我。我说：‘我在这里。’他问我：‘你是谁？’我回答他：‘我是亚玛力人。’于是他对我说：‘请你站到我身边来，把我杀死，因为痛苦抓住我，我却还死不了。’我就站到他身边去，把他杀了，因为我知道他一倒下，就不能再活了。我摘下他头上的王冠，取下他臂上的手镯，带到这里来奉给我主。”大卫就抓住自己的衣服，把它们全都撕裂。所有与他在一起的人也都是这样。他们为了扫罗、他的儿子约拿单、耶和华的子民和以色列家的缘故悲哀、哭泣、禁食直到晚上，因为他们已经倒毙在刀下。大卫问那向他报信的年轻人：“你是哪里的人？”他回答：“我是个寄居这地的亚玛力人的儿子。”大卫对他说：“你伸手毁灭耶和华的受膏者，怎么还不惧怕呢？”于是大卫叫了一个年轻人来，说：“你上前去，砍倒他。”那年轻人击杀他，他就死了。大卫对他说：“你流人血的罪要归到自己的头上，因为你亲口作证指控自己说：‘我杀了耶和华的受膏者。’”
