He was not willing to take the ark of the Lord to be with him in the City of David. Instead, he took it to the house of Obed- Edom the Gittite.

He didn’t want to take the ark of the Lord to be with him in the City of David. Instead, he took it to the house of Obed- Edom. Obed- Edom was from Gath.

So David was not willing to take the ark of the Lord into the city of David. But David took it aside to the house of Obed-edom the Gittite.

So David decided not to move the Ark of the Lord into the City of David. Instead, he took it to the house of Obed edom of Gath.

So he was not willing to bring the ark of the LORD to the city of David; instead, he diverted it to the house of Obed-edom of Gath.

And David was unwilling to move the ark of the Lord into the city of David with him; but David took it aside to the house of Obed edom, the Gittite.

So David would not remove the ark of Jehovah unto him into the city of David; but David carried it aside into the house of Obed- edom the Gittite.

So David was no longer willing to bring the ark of the LORD to be with him in the City of David. David left it in the house of Obed-Edom the Gittite.

So David would not move Yahweh’s ark to be with him in David’s city; but David carried it aside into Obed- Edom the Gittite’s house.

Obed-edom also had sons: Shemaiah the firstborn, Jehozabad the second, Joah the third, Sachar the fourth, Nethanel the fifth,Ammiel the sixth, Issachar the seventh, and Peullethai the eighth, for God blessed him.Also, to his son Shemaiah were born sons who ruled over their ancestral houses because they were strong, capable men.Shemaiah’s sons: Othni, Rephael, Obed, and Elzabad; his brothers Elihu and Semachiah were also capable men.All of these were among the sons of Obed-edom with their sons and brothers; they were capable men with strength for the work— 62 from Obed-edom.

The king said to Ittai the Gittite,“ Why are you also going with us? Go back and stay with the new king since you’re both a foreigner and an exile from your homeland.

Asaph was the chief and Zechariah was second to him. Jeiel, Shemiramoth, Jehiel, Mattithiah, Eliab, Benaiah, Obed-edom, and Jeiel played the harps and lyres, while Asaph sounded the cymbals

With them were their relatives second in rank: Zechariah, Jaaziel, Shemiramoth, Jehiel, Unni, Eliab, Benaiah, Maaseiah, Mattithiah, Eliphelehu, Mikneiah, and the gatekeepers Obed-edom and Jeiel.

He then sent out the troops, a third under Joab, a third under Joab’s brother Abishai son of Zeruiah, and a third under Ittai the Gittite. The king said to the troops,“ I will also march out with you.”

So David did not move the ark of God home to the city of David; instead, he took it to the house of Obed-edom the Gittite.The ark of God remained with Obed-edom’s family in his house for three months, and the Lord blessed his family and all that he had.

and the Beerothites fled to Gittaim and still live there as foreigners to this very day.
