I have not lived in a house since the day I brought up the people of Israel from Egypt to this day, but I have been moving about in a tent for my dwelling.

I have not dwelt in a house from the day I brought the Israelites up out of Egypt to this day. I have been moving from place to place with a tent as my dwelling.

“ But if in spite of this you will not listen to me, but walk contrary to me,then I will walk contrary to you in fury, and I myself will discipline you sevenfold for your sins.

And he said,“ My presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.”And he said to him,“ If your presence will not go with me, do not bring us up from here.

“ And if by this discipline you are not turned to me but walk contrary to me,then I also will walk contrary to you, and I myself will strike you sevenfold for your sins.

“ To the angel of the church in Ephesus write:‘ The words of him who holds the seven stars in his right hand, who walks among the seven golden lampstands.

Because the Lord your God walks in the midst of your camp, to deliver you and to give up your enemies before you, therefore your camp must be holy, so that he may not see anything indecent among you and turn away from you.

For I have not lived in a house since the day I brought up Israel to this day, but I have gone from tent to tent and from dwelling to dwelling.In all places where I have moved with all Israel, did I speak a word with any of the judges of Israel, whom I commanded to shepherd my people, saying,“ Why have you not built me a house of cedar?”’

Then the cloud covered the tent of meeting, and the glory of the Lord filled the tabernacle.And Moses was not able to enter the tent of meeting because the cloud settled on it, and the glory of the Lord filled the tabernacle.Throughout all their journeys, whenever the cloud was taken up from over the tabernacle, the people of Israel would set out.But if the cloud was not taken up, then they did not set out till the day that it was taken up.For the cloud of the Lord was on the tabernacle by day, and fire was in it by night, in the sight of all the house of Israel throughout all their journeys.

“ Our fathers had the tent of witness in the wilderness, just as he who spoke to Moses directed him to make it, according to the pattern that he had seen.

What agreement has the temple of God with idols? For we are the temple of the living God; as God said,“ I will make my dwelling among them and walk among them, and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.

So they set out from the mount of the Lord three days’ journey. And the ark of the covenant of the Lord went before them three days’ journey, to seek out a resting place for them.And the cloud of the Lord was over them by day, whenever they set out from the camp.And whenever the ark set out, Moses said,“ Arise, O Lord, and let your enemies be scattered, and let those who hate you flee before you.”And when it rested, he said,“ Return, O Lord, to the ten thousand thousands of Israel.”
