大卫日见强大，耶和华—万军之神与他同在。

大卫所做的每一件事都精明，耶和华也与他同在。

我要追赶我的仇敌，且要追上他们；若不将他们灭绝，我总不归回。我要打伤他们，使他们站不起来；他们必倒在我的脚下。你曾以力量束我的腰，使我能争战；也曾使那起来攻击我的，都服在我以下。你又使我的仇敌在我面前转身逃跑，使我剪除那恨我的人。他们呼求，却无人拯救；就是呼求耶和华，他也不应允。我捣碎他们，如同风前的灰尘；倾倒他们，如同街上的泥土。

他从灰尘里抬举贫寒的人，从粪堆中提拔贫穷的人，使他们与贵族同坐，与本国的贵族同坐。

大卫在以东设立军营；他在全以东设立军营，以东人就都臣服他。大卫无论往哪里去，耶和华都使他得胜。

于是大卫在大马士革的亚兰设立军营，亚兰人就臣服大卫，向他进贡。大卫无论往哪里去，耶和华都使他得胜。

这样，扫罗和他三个儿子，与拿他兵器的人，以及他所有的人，都在那日一起死了。

他叫有权柄的失位，叫卑贱的升高。

他从灰尘里抬举贫寒人，从粪堆中提拔贫穷人，使他们与贵族同坐，继承荣耀的座位。地的柱子属耶和华，他将世界立在其上。

他使我的脚快如母鹿，使我站稳在高处。他教导我的手能争战，我的膀臂能开铜造的弓。你赐救恩给我作盾牌，你的庇护使我为大。你使我脚步宽阔，我的脚踝未曾滑跌。我追赶我的仇敌，消灭他们；若不将他们灭绝，我总不归回。

我藉着你冲入敌军，藉着我的神跳过城墙。

神的城啊，有荣耀的事是指着你说的。（细拉）我要提起拉哈伯和巴比伦人，是在认识我之中的；看哪，非利士、推罗和古实人，个个生在那里。论到锡安，必有话说：“这一个、那一个都生在其中”；而且至高者必亲自坚立这城。当耶和华记录万民的时候，他要写出人的出生地。（细拉）

当耶和华救大卫脱离所有仇敌和扫罗之手的日子，他用这诗的歌词向耶和华说话。

我要在他面前打碎他的敌人，击杀那些恨他的人。

我必使你成为大国，我必赐福给你，使你的名为大；你要使别人得福。
