King David dedicated these articles to the Lord, as he had done with the silver and gold from all the nations he had subdued:

King David set those gifts apart for the Lord. He had done the same thing with the silver and gold he had taken from the other nations. Those were nations he had brought under his control.

When all the work King Solomon had done for the temple of the Lord was finished, he brought in the things his father David had dedicated— the silver and gold and the furnishings— and he placed them in the treasuries of the Lord’s temple. (niv)

“ I have taken great pains to provide for the temple of the Lord a hundred thousand talents of gold, a million talents of silver, quantities of bronze and iron too great to be weighed, and wood and stone. And you may add to them.You have many workers: stonecutters, masons and carpenters, as well as those skilled in every kind of workin gold and silver, bronze and iron— craftsmen beyond number. Now begin the work, and the Lord be with you.” (niv)

“ Rise and thresh, Daughter Zion, for I will give you horns of iron; I will give you hooves of bronze, and you will break to pieces many nations.” You will devote their ill- gotten gains to the Lord, their wealth to the Lord of all the earth. (niv)

King David dedicated these articles to the Lord, as he had done with the silver and gold he had taken from all these nations: Edom and Moab, the Ammonites and the Philistines, and Amalek. (niv)

With all my resources I have provided for the temple of my God— gold for the gold work, silver for the silver, bronze for the bronze, iron for the iron and wood for the wood, as well as onyx for the settings, turquoise, stones of various colors, and all kinds of fine stone and marble— all of these in large quantities. Shelomith and his relatives were in charge of all the treasuries for the things dedicated by King David, by the heads of families who were the commanders of thousands and commanders of hundreds, and by the other army commanders.Some of the plunder taken in battle they dedicated for the repair of the temple of the Lord.And everything dedicated by Samuel the seer and by Saul son of Kish, Abner son of Ner and Joab son of Zeruiah, and all the other dedicated things were in the care of Shelomith and his relatives.
