願主使之在彼日蒙主矜恤、其在以弗所殷勤事我、乃爾所知也、

吾願其在大審判日、蒙主慈恩。曩在伊法所時、吾如何承其多方照拂固汝所素稔也。

May the Lord grant that he will find mercy from the Lord on that day! You know very well in how many ways he helped me in Ephesus.

As I urged you when I was leaving for Macedonia, stay on in Ephesus to instruct certain people not to spread false teachings,

If you, O LORD, were to keep track of sins, O Lord, who could stand before you?But you are willing to forgive, so that you might be honored.

For it is not necessary for me to write you about this service to the saints,

While Apollos was in Corinth, Paul went through the inland regions and came to Ephesus. He found some disciples there

Then he called out to the LORD,“ O LORD, my God, are you also bringing disaster on this widow I am staying with by killing her son?”

Then the king will say to those on his right,‘ Come, you who are blessed by my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world.For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in,I was naked and you gave me clothing, I was sick and you took care of me, I was in prison and you visited me.’Then the righteous will answer him,‘ Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink?When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or naked and clothe you?When did we see you sick or in prison and visit you?’And the king will answer them,‘ I tell you the truth, just as you did it for one of the least of these brothers or sisters of mine, you did it for me.’

But God, being rich in mercy, because of his great love with which he loved us,

Because of our God’s tender mercy the dawn will break upon us from on high

Concerning this salvation, the prophets who predicted the grace that would come to you searched and investigated carefully.

May the Lord grant mercy to the family of Onesiphorus, because he often refreshed me and was not ashamed of my imprisonment.

for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.But they are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus.

Now I have sent Tychicus to Ephesus.

But I will stay in Ephesus until Pentecost,

He has done this to show mercy to our ancestors, and to remember his holy covenant–

and Joanna the wife of Cuza( Herod’s household manager), Susanna, and many others who provided for them out of their own resources.

For he says to Moses:“ I will have mercy on whom I have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I have compassion.”So then, it does not depend on human desire or exertion, but on God who shows mercy.For the scripture says to Pharaoh:“ For this very purpose I have raised you up, that I may demonstrate my power in you, and that my name may be proclaimed in all the earth.”So then, God has mercy on whom he chooses to have mercy, and he hardens whom he chooses to harden.You will say to me then,“ Why does he still find fault? For who has ever resisted his will?”But who indeed are you– a mere human being– to talk back to God? Does what is molded say to the molder,“ Why have you made me like this?”Has the potter no right to make from the same lump of clay one vessel for special use and another for ordinary use?But what if God, willing to demonstrate his wrath and to make known his power, has endured with much patience the objects of wrath prepared for destruction?And what if he is willing to make known the wealth of his glory on the objects of mercy that he has prepared beforehand for glory–

For who is our hope or joy or crown to boast of before our Lord Jesus at his coming? Is it not of course you?
