You must teach these things and encourage the believers to do them. You have the authority to correct them when necessary, so don’t let anyone disregard what you say.

Brothers and sisters, we urge you to warn those who are lazy. Encourage those who are timid. Take tender care of those who are weak. Be patient with everyone.

Until I get there, focus on reading the Scriptures to the church, encouraging the believers, and teaching them.

This is true. So reprimand them sternly to make them strong in the faith.

Those who sin should be reprimanded in front of the whole church; this will serve as a strong warning to others.

But you, Timothy, certainly know what I teach, and how I live, and what my purpose in life is. You know my faith, my patience, my love, and my endurance.

If you keep yourself pure, you will be a special utensil for honorable use. Your life will be clean, and you will be ready for the Master to use you for every good work.

I correct and discipline everyone I love. So be diligent and turn from your indifference.

So we tell others about Christ, warning everyone and teaching everyone with all the wisdom God has given us. We want to present them to God, perfect in their relationship to Christ.That’s why I work and struggle so hard, depending on Christ’s mighty power that works within me.

Give your complete attention to these matters. Throw yourself into your tasks so that everyone will see your progress.Keep a close watch on how you live and on your teaching. Stay true to what is right for the sake of your own salvation and the salvation of those who hear you.

Those who are taught the word of God should provide for their teachers, sharing all good things with them.

And how will anyone go and tell them without being sent? That is why the Scriptures say,“ How beautiful are the feet of messengers who bring good news!”

“ Get up and go to the great city of Nineveh, and deliver the message I have given you.”

Rejoice in our confident hope. Be patient in trouble, and keep on praying.

They replied,“ Believe in the Lord Jesus and you will be saved, along with everyone in your household.”And they shared the word of the Lord with him and with all who lived in his household.Even at that hour of the night, the jailer cared for them and washed their wounds. Then he and everyone in his household were immediately baptized.

So they earnestly begged Jesus to help the man.“ If anyone deserves your help, he does,” they said,

But Jesus replied,“ I have a kind of food you know nothing about.”“ Did someone bring him food while we were gone?” the disciples asked each other.Then Jesus explained:“ My nourishment comes from doing the will of God, who sent me, and from finishing his work.

“ The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, for he has anointed me to bring Good News to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim that captives will be released, that the blind will see, that the oppressed will be set free,and that the time of the Lord’s favor has come.”

God has given me the responsibility of serving his church by proclaiming his entire message to you.

When they arrived he declared,“ You know that from the day I set foot in the province of Asia until nowI have done the Lord’s work humbly and with many tears. I have endured the trials that came to me from the plots of the Jews.I never shrank back from telling you what you needed to hear, either publicly or in your homes.I have had one message for Jews and Greeks alike— the necessity of repenting from sin and turning to God, and of having faith in our Lord Jesus.

Do not scoff at prophecies,

On the Sabbath we went a little way outside the city to a riverbank, where we thought people would be meeting for prayer, and we sat down to speak with some women who had gathered there.

Jacob’s well was there; and Jesus, tired from the long walk, sat wearily beside the well about noontime.Soon a Samaritan woman came to draw water, and Jesus said to her,“ Please give me a drink.”He was alone at the time because his disciples had gone into the village to buy some food.The woman was surprised, for Jews refuse to have anything to do with Samaritans. She said to Jesus,“ You are a Jew, and I am a Samaritan woman. Why are you asking me for a drink?”Jesus replied,“ If you only knew the gift God has for you and who you are speaking to, you would ask me, and I would give you living water.”

On the first day of the week, we gathered with the local believers to share in the Lord’s Supper. Paul was preaching to them, and since he was leaving the next day, he kept talking until midnight.

And he added,“ God blesses those who do not fall away because of me.”

I urge you, dear brothers and sisters, to pay attention to what I have written in this brief exhortation.

But Jesus told him,“ Let the spiritually dead bury their own dead! Your duty is to go and preach about the Kingdom of God.”

For the next two years, Paul lived in Rome at his own expense. He welcomed all who visited him,boldly proclaiming the Kingdom of God and teaching about the Lord Jesus Christ. And no one tried to stop him.

I have told all your people about your justice. I have not been afraid to speak out, as you, O Lord, well know.

There, in the town of Salamis, they went to the Jewish synagogues and preached the word of God. John Mark went with them as their assistant.

The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is upon me, for the Lord has anointed me to bring good news to the poor. He has sent me to comfort the brokenhearted and to proclaim that captives will be released and prisoners will be freed.He has sent me to tell those who mourn that the time of the Lord’s favor has come, and with it, the day of God’s anger against their enemies.To all who mourn in Israel, he will give a crown of beauty for ashes, a joyous blessing instead of mourning, festive praise instead of despair. In their righteousness, they will be like great oaks that the Lord has planted for his own glory.

Gently instruct those who oppose the truth. Perhaps God will change those people’s hearts, and they will learn the truth.

When we arrived in Rome, Paul was permitted to have his own private lodging, though he was guarded by a soldier.

And you know that we treated each of you as a father treats his own children.We pleaded with you, encouraged you, and urged you to live your lives in a way that God would consider worthy. For he called you to share in his Kingdom and glory.
