“ What things?” Jesus asked.“ The things that happened to Jesus, the man from Nazareth,” they said.“ He was a prophet who did powerful miracles, and he was a mighty teacher in the eyes of God and all the people.

Jesus traveled throughout the region of Galilee, teaching in the synagogues and announcing the Good News about the Kingdom. And he healed every kind of disease and illness.News about him spread as far as Syria, and people soon began bringing to him all who were sick. And whatever their sickness or disease, or if they were demon possessed or epileptic or paralyzed— he healed them all.

Inside, the high priest began asking Jesus about his followers and what he had been teaching them.Jesus replied,“ Everyone knows what I teach. I have preached regularly in the synagogues and the Temple, where the people gather. I have not spoken in secret.Why are you asking me this question? Ask those who heard me. They know what I said.”

At that very time, Jesus cured many people of their diseases, illnesses, and evil spirits, and he restored sight to many who were blind.Then he told John’s disciples,“ Go back to John and tell him what you have seen and heard— the blind see, the lame walk, those with leprosy are cured, the deaf hear, the dead are raised to life, and the Good News is being preached to the poor.”And he added,“ God blesses those who do not fall away because of me.”

For God called you to do good, even if it means suffering, just as Christ suffered for you. He is your example, and you must follow in his steps.He never sinned, nor ever deceived anyone.He did not retaliate when he was insulted, nor threaten revenge when he suffered. He left his case in the hands of God, who always judges fairly.

Jesus was about thirty years old when he began his public ministry. Jesus was known as the son of Joseph. Joseph was the son of Heli.

“ People of Israel, listen! God publicly endorsed Jesus the Nazarene by doing powerful miracles, wonders, and signs through him, as you well know.

You, a mere man, claim to be God.”Jesus replied,“ It is written in your own Scriptures that God said to certain leaders of the people,‘ I say, you are gods!’And you know that the Scriptures cannot be altered. So if those people who received God’s message were called‘ gods,’why do you call it blasphemy when I say,‘ I am the Son of God’? After all, the Father set me apart and sent me into the world.Don’t believe me unless I carry out my Father’s work.But if I do his work, believe in the evidence of the miraculous works I have done, even if you don’t believe me. Then you will know and understand that the Father is in me, and I am in the Father.”

Soon afterward his wife, Elizabeth, became pregnant and went into seclusion for five months.
